Unfortunately @foxgloves they aren't taking on new customers - I've checked several times recently!  As soon as they are taking on new customers I'll be moving.  I'll carry on checking from time to time until such time.

Can I ask does that mean you are paying a variable DD rather than a regular monthly DD?  I'd prefer a regular DD throughout the year but it certainly wouldn't be a deal breaker if a variable one is all that is available!

I quite agree that more communication/information is important but the only information we get from EDF is "let us help you save money on your power", eg try turning your lights off, reduce the temperature of your thermostat!  Don't they think we're already doing these things?

Just seen on another site that octopus are offering £50 sign up to new customers.   Don’t know if this is of any use?
    Thansk I'll have a look.

Edit:  Just had a look and can't see anything on their website about the £50 signing up bribe!  Which site did you see it on please?

Think its more advertised once you have signed up - they give you a referral code, so ask someone you know (Foxgloves, Essex Hebridean, myself or anyone else you know signed up with them for their code/link)

@foxgloves - I love the sound of your friends gift and I'm going to do something similar for my mum, would love to see your scarf/shawl if possible (might motivate me to do something)

Thanks for all the comments. I'm not too well acquainted with referral codes, never having used them, so am glad there are more knowledgeable folk than me around this morning.....& am covered in bread dough, so shouldn't really be typing on my phone.
