Glad you got the biker jacket. I know which one you mean as I was admiring it a few weeks ago when I passed it in the Sparkles shop 😉 I had a lovely biker jacket style coat which unfortunately the same thing happened to as your jacket. I loved that coat and haven’t managed to find anything similar 🙁
Enjoy your 🍕I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
That's why I bought this new one, @Sun_Addict, as it is very like the old one & I thought I might not be able to find anything similar. They were obviously pushing it in the shop yesterday as 3 mannequins were wearing it. I wondered about getting a leather one to prevent the peeling problem but I like that the faux ones are machine washable.
Nice to get some money off anyway.

Oh. We had planned a useful gardening morning today but it's frozen overnight. Bah! Still early, so hopefully as the sun comes up properly, it will melt.

Congratulations on your lovely new biker jacket 🎉 Especially at a bargain price! They really are incredibly versatile and comfortable for dressing up, or down. Mine are my old favourites in my wardrobe and will hopefully continue to be for a long time yet. I too wear and continue to mend garments for as long as I can get away with. I have recently mended a 32 year old mohair jumper which had fallen prey to moths. It is in the freezer now but I am not sure how else to protect it. If you have any tips I would love to hear them as the wretched little blighters also got into some of my wool and a cashmere jumper. The gardening book sounds interesting and I hope will provide a fresh tip, or two. Although, I suspect that you could write your own; Mrs Foxgloves Book of Household and Garden Management has a nice ring to it 😊
In sympathy with Mr F and his bottles of perry, I find it annoying when the offer is 4 for the price of 3 and there are only 3 bottles remaining on the shelf!6 -
Love reading the comments. I was at Unravel wool show last weekend, and came home inspired to get busy with my stash. Just finished a pair of self striping socks to start the gift stash again. I have been busy making more marmalade this morning, last batch for this year, might add some whiskey to make it a bit special and keep for gifting.8

Hello Scrimpy Sunday Lovelies!
The frost did melt pretty swiftly & despite it being a cold morning, I enjoyed my time in the garden. I'm off to sit in a sunny window shortly (will probably involve fighting the cats for the radiator) but am just dropping by to kick in today's small budget-helping activities:
*Lots of tomato seedlings now coming up.
*Did 3 Annoying Jobs from my list - all completely spend-free, as I was able to shop an item from home.
*Fed sourdough jar ready for baking tomorrow.
*Free bending & stretching session as I made a start on clearing an overgrown area of flower bed. 2 big trugs of stuff for council garden waste wheelie & 3 added to our compost bins. Was feeling a bit overwhelmed by the amount of work required in this area, but now I have made a start, I can see what I need to do next & it isn't as daunting.
*Mr F did 3 trips to the village garden centre for our annual supply of compost sacks & grow-bags, as well as 4 sacks of pebbles for a pond-side project. All budgeted for from backpay & as we had costed it up, it was accurate to the exact £.
*A terracotta pot disaster led to a bit of a free change of look on our back courtyard. Mr F pointed out that the pot was very badly cracked & turned it round to show me....at which point, it completely fell to pieces! Was not minded to replace it atm as probably £40-ish, so we replanted the dwarf lilac bush which was in it into a flower bed where a little more planty structure was needed. I divided up the trailing campanula from the same pot & moved it to the edges of a very large pot containing a witch hazel. The purple flowers will look nice against the lime green leaves of the witch hazel & I got 3 good size clumps from one big tangly muddle. We liked the better view down the garden from having moved the birdbath, so we also moved a large potted bay tree as I'd got Movingstuffitis by then - finished off by putting the nice pot of mixed Spring bulbs from my friend in a better place to be enjoyed from the kitchen window. Not a radical change by any means, but much like a move around indoors, I felt we had achieved a little bit of a new look without having parted with any pence.
*Did a survey - March's PA earnings currently at £11-56. Feeling motivated by having bought my new jacket pretty much from Feb's survey earnings, so will see what I can do by keeping a tab open while I am using my laptop.
*We have decided not to go out tomorrow. We both have plenty to do at home & it will save us 30 miles of petrol & coffee shop temptation.
*Deliberate decision not to buy a roasting joint for today. Have defrosted a large box of chicken thighs & Mr F is intending to roast those on top of a tray of assorted veg. It will still be a roast dinner, but I think the only spend involved will have been a couple of leeks & parsnips, carrots & a cauli.
Well, that is my lot for today. I have a new novel from the library which I intend to start this afternoon - "A Bird in Winter" by Louise Doughty, which I thought sounded intriguing. Also need to join in a new ball of yarn on my cardi.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day,
F x

Movingstuffitis - I love itI get it quite often, and it drives my husband bonkers, as he gets co-opted to shift the heavy stuff6

Garden bits sound lovely. Three trips for Mr F! He's definitely earnt a beer.
Enjoy the last of the sun and your book7 -
I was brought up in the Midlands @foxgloves and my mother often talked about me eating like a gannet. Since moving south nearly 40 years ago, I've not heard the expression at all. Is it a Midlands thing? Took me right back love Humdinger xx5

@Humdinger1 - I don't think so, as my Mum said it & she grew up in Suffolk & never lived any further north.
