Poor Ash, hopefully he’ll settle down with the meds. What a worry. Good that you have funds in place, nothing is ever cheap at the vets. Get well soon Ash 😽I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Poor Ash. The wisdom of having insurance and the fund for the costs not covered by insurance. Hope he is ok soon3

Glad Ash is improved and it's a manageable albeit extra costs condition.
Your productive list is very productive, and a win for the courgette glut!
You mending your dress is very impressive, and reminds me that my new year's intention was to learn how to do simple sewing like buttons. Because of my chronic pain condition (EDS) I am extremely cack-handed and have tried to learn before and given up in frustration but as an actual adult (apparently) I really should be able to sew a button on. Though I don't think I'd ever be as efficient as you, dealing with it the next day, most impressive!4 -
Love to you all @foxgloves, including Ash! Humdinger xx3

Pleased they sorted Ash out.I love rhubarb and ginger jam. The lady who ran the gardening club for the children at school used to make it to sell. The children picked, made the labels and sold it on the stall, but boiling jam was a no no for them 😳 There was a very productive garden there and the children loved it.January spends - £587.586

Thanks for your good wishes for Ash. His breathing is looking more normal & he is enjoying his food again......in fact the steroids are making him hungry & he's started doing Soot levels of food-pester.
Tired this morning as some inconsiderate plonker on our street was welding until 11.30 last night, then our smoke alarm went off (not due to the welding) at 1.20 & 2.30. It also went off 5 times yesterday for no reason. Mr F has just left for work & I'm sitting with the cats & planning my day. I need to prioritise getting on top of homegrown produce so I think I will leave mid-month budget check-in until tomorrow. Also need to listen out for a parcel delivery so need to be in the house.
Right, time to get my audiobook on & embark on a morning of kitchen witchery.
Wishing everyone a decent day - keep your mitts on your money, m'dears.

Our posh cat has asthma. She's always been interested in human food but is often found begging like a dog now she is given (I nearly typed "takes" but that's not quite how it works) regular steroids. Her main symptoms are a cough and sometimes her purr sounds like she's purring underwater. She also has a fake cough that she can produce for sympathy and if she thinks there's a possibility of food or cat treats being produced. I hope Ash is feeling better today. Soot is going to be delighted to have an accomplice 😄7

Our cat has been sick 3-4 times in the last two nights and day. I think she gobbles down food when stressed. I might need to open another Feliway pack. There was a small piece of plastic in one of the mostly slimy piles (sorry) and I am wondering if that was the cause.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
