I'm sorry that I missed your "Happy cake day" yesterday. I should have known that we are the same sun sign - I often find myself nodding as I'm reading your food and garden posts. Your day sounds exactly like my idea of a good day.5

Morning Campers!
Thanks for your good wishes. I enjoyed the day - gentle & relaxing & I felt thoroughly spoiled.
Well yesterday, something odd appeared in the sky above our village. I had a race memory of having seen it many years ago in the mists of time. Yes, it was The Sun & amazingly, I can report that its presence allowed me to enjoy some gardening wearing only 2 layers, instead of 4.
Mr F levelled the area for my new birthday coldframe & added some pebbles leftover from the building work. I filled it with lettuces, potted on geranium plugs & cerinthe..I also sorted out greenhouse veggie seedlings & culled those which have stalled & obviously intended doing nothing more than taking up space looking pathetically feeble. Then I sowed the french beans. I'd like to do some weeding & planting today but the forecast isn't as good & looks showery, so I'll see how it goes.
I think I mentioned I submitted a leftovers recipe to a free supermarket magazine & that they are printing it? Well, they sent me a £10 voucher for that. I also took part in a 4-day food diary exercise for a local.university (a study into diet, obesity & access to food). I wasn't expecting any payment - they'd mentioned possible vouchers for participants who responded early, but I couldn't recall any detail. So it was a nice surprise to receive an email with a £50 Sainsbugs voucher! If we can use both those for next week's shop, I'll be able to via £60 from the grocery budget to the savings pots. That will be useful as I'm on a mission to build them up.
Right, I need to feed my sourdough jar ready for bakung tomorrow & I also need to get some bargainaceous gammon into the slow cooker, so I shall wish you all a nice day & crack on.

Nice work on the free vouchers !! Im impressed! Big help as well in these dire times.
I see you grow geraniums from seed? Ive done this for the first time this year but didnt sow till Feb then realised they can be started late winter. Mine are all healthy little plants but not sure if they were sown in time to flower later this year. I guess time will tell. As with most things.....its trial and error and now I know for next year.
Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £606
