I’ve noticed some recipes that use sun dried tomatoes say use some of the oil to cook with. I always use flavoured oils to cook so I suppose this is no different.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

Sun dried tomato oil is fabulous for cooking with! We bought a jar to use some in a recipe when we were in the Hebrides last and one of the best things about it was having the oil afterwards! As for the Olives, you lot are posh getting 5em in oil - mine are usually the supermarket’s jars in brine! 😂🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Lol@EH. I would buy the ones in brine for cooking, but for eating as they are, I like the ones in oil.....another item which has increased significantly in price, so we don't have them often.

Tidying away the Christmas decorations, done a freezer inventory, now to sort the cupboards to tee and have a healthy frugal 2023. Trying to convince myself if I do better portion control it will help my finances and my waistline 😊8

I almost ordered a new face cream but I read a few pages back about cutting the bottom and using a cotton bud and peg, so I've now done that and there's loads left! Thank youNovember 2022 - £46,626.96 / May 2025 - £5,970.00

Hi hope all well
found out yesterday hubby will be made redundant in 45 days 😢 he not been there long and was just starting to enjoy it10 -
I use the number rhyme system for remembering a shortish list. You remember the thing by associating it with the rhyming word
EG I need bread and new tights, I need to take a book back to the library and buy a card for someone's birthday
1 Bun Easy - bread
2 Shoe - that's the new tights
3 Tree - tree of knowledge - library
4 Door - I visualise the door of Smiths and myself going through it
5 Hive
6 Sticks
It goes on but gets a bit tiresome if there are more than about six thingsIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!8 -

Thanks for dropping by, everyone.
@marionmgcars - I'm going to use a much smaller dinner plate this year. I think I compare my plate with Mr F's & ensure I give myself less, but he's a big bloke with an appetite to match & I think a smaller plate will be helpful for me to get portions right.
@MissPennySave - Yes, well worth doing with tubes of product. You can often get a week's more use out of it or more. I've just started using the last portion of a lipstick with a lipbrush to extract it. Why spend money on a lipstick then throw a third of it away?
@Maryb - I love that mnemonic method! It's fun too.
@Crazycatlady2 - Oh that is tough. Job losses are a scary part of an economic recession & your partner & his colleagues won't sadly be anywhere near the last to find themselves in this position in the coming year. Hope he finds something else quickly. It's a worry, I know, having been through so many rounds of job cuts when I was working.
