Resourcefulness: The budgeter's friend

Thanks all. We had a lovely evening. Had to smile - There were a few people demonstrating outside the nearby theatre. One of them got the wrong venue & ended up shouting to all of us concert-goers who had come out to hear Wagner & Beethoven that we should bow down & cast out our demons....until he was manhandled out by security. Mr F rather lugubriously said it was "like being at work".
And hello to everyone else too,
First day off from Mr F's new compressed working hours today, so he decided to go & do the grocery shopping while I waited in for a parcel. Glad I did, as it wouldn't have fitted through the door.
*Groceries just about on weekly target esp as we now won't need to buy cat food next week.
*Did 3 surveys.
*Mr F cut the lawn. Plenty added to compost bins as we did No-mow May & then fed cukes, courgettes, strawberries & containers.
*Big kitchen garden progress. Planted out our outdoor tomatoes, staked & tied them in. Ditto both tromboncino plants, one on either side of an arch....followed by 2 Guatemalan blue squash plants in the remaining old raised bed. I can't get the 3rd one in until Mr F has moved some old railway sleepers into position.
*Split up the container-grown peppers to give them a large pot each, now they are putting on decent growth.
*Watered & had a general tidy-away. Identified a number of greenhouse tasks which need doing as I can get on with those tomorrow if it's raining.
*Easy meal tonight as I made enough turkey chilli on Monday to feed us tonight as well.
Well, I think I shall go & close the greenhouse for the night & think about a nice hot bubble bath.

Not much of a post today as Soot is poorly & I've just managed to book him an emergency vet appointment half an hour before they close tonight. Mr F, of course, has the car for work in the week, so he is currently doing his best against the traffic to get home in time. I'm busy doing all sorts of random tasks because I am not good where poorly cats are concerned.

Sending healing vibes to Soot, hope he's ok. Cats can go downhill quickly with infections but soon recover once the antibiotics/painkillers start to work. My young cat was very poorly with an infection earlier this year, I was so worried about her but she was back to normal more or less the following day.
