Giving Up/Cutting Down Alcohol Thread part 18

Welcome @family355. 😊
It can be difficult with drinking friends although I can't see why it's not acceptable to do Dry February instead of Dry January! 🤣 I suppose they feel (subconsciously perhaps 🤔) that you're doing something that they can't so an implied criticism. Personally I'd use the broken record technique. Just say you're doing Dry February and stick with it. Personally, although I know all about the health reasons and the money, I do it for the calories. You'd be foolish to spend time and money on the gym and then undo all your good work.
10/10 AFDs please @cathybird

You can dry any month I've dry juned and dry Octobered in the past. Other people can be annoying, even when you tell them you're not drinking (alcohol) they still insist on buying you (alcoholic) drinks.
Nothing to see here, move along.6 -
@maman-That is exactly what I realised in December, I had made zero progress weight wise so knew I had to try and cut alcohol out completely for it to be worth the effort and money (I do get it discounted through work so 3x per month and I've already had my monies worth) in turn I've been eating better so double win!
@Coveredinbees!!!! ...is exactly how the last weekend of January went, 'no thanks, I've made it 27 days' to 'I've bought you a wine, it's just one' 🤯
Thanks guys 😊 I will not be broken!5 -
