Nervous about holding firm tonight so declaring early while my resolve is still strong - 12/14 please Cathybird. My plan is to get in the bath and have dinner as soon as I get home tonight and I've spoken to my BF already and asked him not to offer me any wine if he has some. If I can survive until 20 minutes after I eat dinner I should be fine. After a few days away caring I often suffer from I-deserve-it-itis when I finally get home but I will fight that tonight.
Rob single-handedly gave the thread a great focus on money-saving during 2024 with all his great posts about saving for his car. Or was that 2023? I rarely venture outside of Old-style and Debt-free areas. I saw similar discussions on the best home for a W*ight W*tchers thread on here ages ago but in the end it stayed in the same place. Can't remember but think that might have been Old-style now.2 -
I've posted the new thread and it is here
Let me know if anything could be worded better. I have put Jan and 2025 into the title because I think it will make people feel more inclined to join. I can edit the title every month to put the current month in.

That's a great welcome to any new people who'd like to join and are thinking about cutting down @cathybird and also explains how the thread works very well. 👍
I've not done well in December but I'm not worrying about it. I know I'll get back on the wagon next week. We've had a very sociable month and I have been rewarding myself with a drink on other days.
My stresses have been minor compared to many on the thread. Our builders, who we've lived with since May, finally left on 19th December and then it was a mad dash to get the house straight and ready for Christmas visitors. Today is the first time we've been home alone.
Thanks for all your help throughout the year. Happy New Year to all. ❤️5 -
23/24 for me today please, Cathybird.
I know that I’ll be drinking tomorrow, New Year’s Eve, so I’ll miss December’s target, unfortunately. I am looking forward to succeeding in the new year, however.
Thank you to everyone for your encouragement - see you in the new thread!

@marahouti yes it surprises me there isn't a lifestyle section, especially with the cost of living having shot up so steeply over the years. But there you are
@Wanna_Bee_Free oh yes and we never heard what happened with the car - at least if we did I missed it! @RobM99 did you ever buy the new car?
Feel free to comment on the new thread btw! If new people see it is looking chatty they might feel more inclined to join in4 -
29/25 today please cathybird. Thank you. X

Ending the month on 25. I won’t be drinking tonight as I’ve offered to collect son and gf from the pub at 1am. I’ve also signed up to Dry January and downloaded the app.It will be a challenge I’m sure but I did 30 days recently and have felt rubbish drinking more than I should on the 6 days this week. My sleep has also suffered. So I’m getting back on it, despite having a significant birthday this month. I’m hoping receiving the daily emails and checking in here will encourage me.Live for the moment and plan for the future3
