Thanks @satchmo1 I think I got a bit confused because I had already had a few non drinking days under my belt but then lost track of what total I was on....doesn't take much to confuse me! I'm doing one of these 25 in 25 challenges, so my target in January is 25 non drinking days, I'd normally do dry January, so if I can get a full house then that's great, but didn't want to set myself up to fail, which is usually a given for me!3

@leftatthetrafficlights oh that's a shame, we'll miss you! It's a good thing to do obviously and hats off to you, but hope you will be back in 2026. xx
Re a new thread, I can see there's a logic to setting up a new one each year, it makes sense. So if people like the idea then I'm happy to go with that.6 -

Thanks for all the good wishes for my forthcoming digital detox - I'm very much looking forward to it and although I won't be on the boards, I'll be sticking with sobriety.
This thread has inspired, supported and encouraged me so much in my journey that I will always be immensely grateful for it's existence and to @cathybird for running it!

19/12 today please Cathybird (declaring early). Have been dithering significantly over a total to aim for next year. I have found that setting a low target works for me but I want something to really aim for. I'm upping my monthly target to 20 for January but some months are much more difficult and I don't want to set myself up to fail. I'm going to go for 200 please Cathybird which I think is a challenge but achievable.4

11/10 More by accident that design I have beaten my target. A work crisis meant I finished very late yesterday so ate and went to bed. All good.
18 for January please. I was going to do 20 but that seems a stretch given I think my partner's mother will die in the next few days and there will be family fall out I am sure. (Not being dramatic there, he has just been called to the care home).Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5
