Checking in at last: 1 for me @cathybird please.I read with interest (and sympathy) other people’s posts about struggling - I certainly am right now. I have lots of work challenges and home challenges too - and alcohol has always been my number one go-to in times of stress (and times of not-stress, to be fair). Lots of travel coming up which always makes it more difficult.
All that said, I won’t give up posting and will keep on trying and not simply hating that I am not doing well.5 -
@AllNightDiner Sorry to hear you're struggling at the moment. You are brave posting - last month I just hid away but it is much better being amongst supportive people. I do find that eventually I just sort of hit that point where I know I have to stop drinking before it becomes a serious problem, but it often takes quite a while to get there! I'm coming round to thinking that I might have to just give up drinking altogether although I absolutely hate the thought of it. I wish I could drink sensibly but one glass is impossible and then one night is too! However... seeing as I have no alcohol in the house and am going our of my way (literally) to avoid shops I can report 5/10 tonight!7

4/20 for me today please. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?2

@oceandreamer I appreciate your thoughts. Yes, you are right - it is better to be on here talking about the struggle rather than slinking off and giving up (though I do not feel brave - I feel embarrassed).I also know what you mean about hating the thought of giving up alcohol altogether. That isn’t my aim, but like you, I do want to adjust my patterns of drinking so that I don’t have to give up for health reasons.
anyway, 2/10 please @cathybird with thanks as always!3
