Happy New Year everybody. Thankyou so much for all your hard work Cathybird - I would never be able to keep track if it wasn't for this thread. Starting 2024 off today with 1/20. Lots of people around me are doing dry January but I know I would be just setting myself up to fail (well I'd have failed yesterday) but I am going to be trying hard to get to my target AFDs. I was astounded at how many I managed over last year and I know it is entirely down to the support of this thread as I have never managed to cut down my drinking before I found it!4

Happy New Year everyone, Cathy glad to see you're still running the thread. I know I haven't been active since July, I won't go into details except RL got very much in the way.
I think that now is as good a time as any to ask to rejoin.
2 please Cathy

I have some good news, which is that I have finally worked out a method for getting the emojis all to line up properly without putting them inside a grey quote box. Yay! So now we can go back to the old way of doing things if we like. However, the one good thing about the quote boxes is I think they do make it a bit easier to read the list, because everyone's row of emojis is separated off from everyone else's and the grey does make it a bit visually softer. I have worked out a way of using rules to keep it tidy instead, and have re-done the December list (see above). I personally like this, but does anyone have a preference? The December list using quote boxes is on p337 if anyone wants to compare.
Alternatively we can take the initial list of emojis out of the quote boxes and leave everyone's totals inside the quote boxes, as I have done for the January list (also see above). The only thing is that the quote boxes are indented, so perhaps that looks a bit odd? Would really like everyone's opinion.5 -
Well done cathybird. We all appreciate your hard work.I would be totally useless!I was so delighted to get my dancing pink elephant for 2023. 325/365 days. YAYNow I am 2/25 for January. But not one member of the family has popped in to wish us Happy New Year yet. We both have a bad cold, and didnt feel up to any celebrations so soon after our visitors from America. left Probably they will come in dribs and drabs thereby reducing my chances of AF days. Plus its my 76 birthday end of the month. I will probably just scrape through with the 25 days. We'll see.4
