Giving Up/Cutting Down Alcohol Thread part 18

Just a minor comment: I don't drink and haven't ever really drunk except for a bit when I was a teenager. My one comment is: when I see alcohol for sale - even in places such as Aldi - I'm just gobsmacked as to how much it can cost. If I buy a specialist ginger ale (alcohol free) for £3-5, then I think that's really expensive compared to what I normally drink. But, £12.89 for 70cl whiskey in Aldi, that seems just incredibly expensive to me. And, I know it gets a lot more expensive.

Good luck to everyone in cutting down and giving up, since that will be what you are all doing here. For moneysaving reasons and all other reasons too.

Hi all, 5/30 for me, October total was 26, I was "out of the loop" for a week.

NY - well! We did three gigs, in order of bad to good.  Somehow we got booked into a Russian nightclub playing house/techno at ear-shattering volume. We had to sort out the stage ourselves (never a good sign - we got the feeling we were the first band ever to play there!). Our keyboard (the actual instrument, not the player - a Ukrainian concert pianist who is one of our singers' mum!) had a hissy fit and refused to work, We bombed. But agreed - any live act in the world would have gone down like a hog roast at the Vegan society annual dinner and dance. The whole evening was just awful. But bear with me, gentle reader - Gig 2 was fun, gig 3 was epic and the best I've ever done. I'll continue tomorrow!
