Lost item and money :o(

I have no reason to think a buyer wouldn't take the opportunity if it is given to them. I had a situation on ebay with an Argos delivery point where the seller phoned ebay and got a refund because the item had been delivered to the wrong Argos. When it eventually made it the the correct Argos a few days later he went and collected it. However, in that case ebay didn't take the money from me. I guess they must have took the loss themselves. It's a strange case because I can't see how they are offering you seller protection.

will cost you £35 to go to small claims court. Don't just threaten him with it, fill in the forms - send them to him and give him 7 days to return the item or you will file the claim. Also put in a nominal amount for your time and the return postage. Point out to the buyer that he will lose and have to pay the additional plus the court fees and he will have a CCJ against him which will severely impact his ability to get credit. That should be enough to get your item back4

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I have had a few nightmares like this. I have had customer services say they can do absolutely nothing , which is annoying , as they sometimes give you the wrong advice to start off with. I think the ones in the call centres abroad cannot always do much but ones in ireland or England are often really good. I would speak to somebody in person again and if you have a CallCenter abroad don’t expect much. I would then make an excuse that you have to go if you’re getting no one apologise for be polite. Then ring a different time another day when you are more likely to get an English or Irish person ( check time zones when more likely to get uk or even American ones) I have had two cases reversed back in my favour by doing this. Always be polite and always be grateful and sometimes ask for a manager twice as apparently that helps if the person cannot help you as sometimes they are restricted in what they can do and say you understand that.
I was told by eBay on phone that they absolutely could not reverse decision even though they saw that post office had refused a return as they were on strike 😬 so buyer had item still and wanted money and to keep item despite numerous efforts from me to get item back and refund) I rung the next day and spoke to nice uk person and they reversed it straight away , gave me my refund back and made it so simple.
hope this helps . It’s such a large amount I would not give up.Keep ringing! If you don’t like a thread or post just move on by.

On that note, it is worth demanding a supervisor. I was talking to an Indian ebay call centre on a less important issue but after demanding a supervisor I was transferred to an American who seemed to be more inclined to listen to my points and offer an intelligent response. I actually felt like I was being listened to.

Had a text message out of the blue from the buyer today asking me for the postage cost so that he can return the unit this week.
Ive sent postage via PayPal so I'll give it a few days and see whether I get any tracking info etc......
Will keep you updated!4 -
So, new update.
Buyer has said he has posted the item back to me today (1st class signed for even though I sent him money for Special Delivery). He sent me a picture of the postage receipt.
Let’s see what turns up……
I’m pretty sure it will be the original camera etc, so all may be well, but am tempted to video the entire unboxing process….just in case…..0
