Washing machine mystery

Hi, I've found this small metal object in my washing machine drum. I'm pretty certain it hasn't come out of the laundry.Could it be a bit of a bearing that has broken off? Can something like that break off and find it's way into the drum? Has anyone come across this before?
Thanks in advance.

Exactly what it look like to me, something from a hoodie or anything where a pull string comes through.

⁸I agree it looks like it could be an eyelet, but I haven't washed anything like that so it's a bit of a mystery.

Agree with others, doesn’t look heavy duty enough to be part of the machine itself

If it was a bearing then something would rotate on it.

A side view would help confirm but agree with everyone else that its an eyelet.

If you found it inside the drum then check all the seals as unless you have a big hole somewhere there is no way that would pass through the drainage holes for it to have fallen off from within the machine and so is something you put in the machine. It could of cause been something someone had in a pocket rather than off an item in the wash itself.

@hansencat,  check your filter to see if any other bits of debris are in there.

    Which brand😂

    Ok It's small

Most probably part of a clothing eyelet or rivet.

Sometimes they disintegrate and bits hang around in bits of clothing for ages.
