Changed Flight Timec

Hello! I’m currently struggling with Ryanair - I booked via their Family Plus offer for family flights to Pisa in May ‘23. I got a confirmation email on paying first 50%. When I paid balance, the confirmation came back with changed flights - by 10+ hours. I couldn’t change without a fee as my original booking was more than 24 hrs prior. I’ve emailed RyanAir constantly - and called them - but keep being told that as flight is not yet ‘operational’ that I can’t get a refund as schedules not yet confirmed. Don’t want to pay for alternative carrier if refund doesn’t happen - but several months have passed and no change in flight status announced. This is a secret holiday for my wife’s birthday & the additional stress is horrid. Am I missing any obvious tricks in getting this sorted?

Surely if you received a confirmation email that would have been for a flight at a specific time, and if they subsequently changed it then they should have offered a refund at the time it was changed, regardless of payment staging, etc?  If they're saying that the flight is not yet operational and that schedules aren't yet confirmed then what are they saying about when this will happen?
  • You’ve summarised entirely the position & the frustration! I’ve only heard from the RA customer services that the flight is non refundable until it’s operational & that they can’t confirm when it’ll be operational.
  • Hi I am in a similar situation with Ryanair, booked flights for morning departure but when I pull my booking though on the Ryanair website I have seats on a flight departing 7 hours later.  I have contacted Ryanair on numerous occasions and get the same response I can pay £40 and the difference in flight price to change my flight now to a morning departure or I have to wait up to 3 months before departure until the schedule is confirmed to get a free change or refund.  So they have my money and I’m unable to secure new suitable flights until Ryanair decide they want to confirm their summer schedule - it’s a joke!!!! @forumite did you get any update with regards to your flight changes

Most airlines state on their T&C how much a flight time can change before a refund is possible.  Over 10 hours seems excessive, but Ryanair aren't "most airlines" and seem to make up their rules as they go along.  Those changes always in their favour.
  • Similar position here. Ryanair sent me a car hire offer and I noticed the flight times were different. It's just over 3 months before we fly but have had no notice of a cancellation or flight change so will probably have to wait another week before contacting them again. The other annoying thing, of course, is that I could have booked the later flights at much lower price but would rather drive to the resort in daylight.
