Oh no @Soontobeoap, thank goodness nobody was hurt. Hopefully there wasn't damage to the houses either or that would be whole other set of insurance companies to deal with as well.

Small spend this morning for some mozzarella for tonight's Hunters Chicken dinner. Total spend to date £64.94/£200 leaving £167.66.
Only one week left for shopping as on holiday next week so will definitely be well under this month's reduced budget.

Another £5.98 spent today in aldi to get some of the things that were out of stock on my asda delivery yesterday. I still didn't manage to get fresh basil though as all the basil plants were clearly half dead and no-one with any sense would buy them. I'll have to try again on Thursday when I'm in town again as I want it to make some gigantes plaki at the weekend.
I'm up to £99.19/£200 now so still doing well and I've still got plenty in the fridge and freezer to be using up so I'm feeling positive.7 -
JingsMyBucket said:@snowbird20 Ooof, how's your place up in Chautauqua where they've been hit with so much so snow lately? Hopefully there's someone checking on it for you. I haven't been out to Western New York in a while. I'm hoping when I go back to Brooklyn this summer I can make a trip to Ithaca possibly.5

CRANKY40 said:I like looking things up from @snowbird20's posts. We used to watch various youtubers cooking and there's so many foods that we don't have here in the UK. Besides we both have House Trolls now
My house troll is still in California---he will be driving to Florida the first of February with a stop in Texas to visit his father. He'll move in around Valentine's day.

Two spends today, £6.28 in Asda for a loaf, digestive biscuits, a litre of soya milk, sugar, sweet peppers, celery, broccoli and carrots then £4.58 in Home Bargains for 2 Vitalite, some fig rolls and Billingtons molasses sugar (down to 49p, normally around £1.80).
Brings this month's total so far to £112.38/£180
I've only got £67.62 left to stay on budget and the final big shop to do on Monday.

Bought milk and discounted camembert from M&S. The cheese was an impulse buy but it'll be a nice thing to build dinner around. The total came to £3.50 for the purchase.
Total for the month comes to £50.44/£120.

500/600 We have enough food now to take me up to 24th as my month runs 24th to 24th. I also have a house troll finding himself Whatever that means?? I will come in well under this month So pleased with that. I have found a new trick of adding an egg on top of various veg dishes before reheating in microwave and makes a nice change from cheese. Also as I eat porridge in mornings I have a few jars of hot chocolate which you just add water (I had bought by mistake as we liked the hot chocolate that requires milk) I have used the instant hot chocolate with water and oats and then zapped in microwave. Very handy when outta milk21k savings no debt7
