Sign up through LBM - worried now!!!

Received a call a couple of days ago from a company saying they were orange.

they said that my phone was up or upgrading and ask if i was interested and what i wanted. I was going to upgrade anyway so i went ahead and got what i asked for. (all good)

i found it strange that he asked for all my details again (for Direct Debit), but stupid me, i gave him. I then paid for the £3.99 delivery for the new phone by giving him 16 digit number, exp date on card etc...

he then said i'll get an email when order has been processed and thanked me.

when i got of the phone i realised he didn't ask for the 3 digit number on the signiture strip so i rang back the number and it was a company call LBM working on behalf of orange.

anybody dealt with them or had the same happen and also the fact he didn't ask for my 3 digit number is my card safe or should i cancel???

thanks in advance

  • thanks, just read up on the link.

i guess my main concern is am i going to lose out financially??

the deal they offered was good for me but seen as though i didn't give them the 3 digit number of my card & also the fact that i haven't received the confimation email of the order does it mean it's not been completed???

i've spoke to orange (twice) and they've ben useless about it!!!!!
  • I cannot beleive that people are stil giving personal info over the phone to someone who has called them out of the blue.

oi clever d**k, either post a helpful remark or don't bother posting at all.

i posted this thread to get some advise!!!!!!!!!!!

I can see why some newbie's to this site get reluctant to post anything due to the fear of being judged - god you get a star under your username and you know everything eh!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could always E-Mail Orange,s high level complaints team at

  • LBM runs various call centres and have one located here in Belfast (got a few mates who work there actually), they are a large company and work for large businesses providing them with whatever they need be it customer service, sales, etc. One of their clients is O2 (Seems that O2 Rentions are based in LBM so its not to far fetched to think Orange might also be there)

Should you be concerned about anything sinister? not at all. Unless this particular call advisor is going to steal your details for nefarious reasons which is unlikely.

What I would think would happen that because the advisor didnt take the 3 digit card number that they would call you back to get such information to progress the order.

If all were to go to plan you would hopefully get what you agreed to with Orange
