I bought items costing £30 from an online company called SE which supplies products for children with additional needs mid-November (16th) this year. Unfortunately, after no news, I contacted the company only to receive an automated response after completing their contact us online form and email address. I also did try to contact them by their telephone number but had the same automated response. As these items were for Christmas, I contacted my bank who said after 30 days I could do a chargeback. It was exactly 30 days. I then received an email from them stating they note the chargeback and that if I do not reverse the charges by 10 am the next day they will be applying to the county court. I requested a tracking number but they stated this will be for evidence for the courts. I then contacted citizens' advice and raised the consumer rights act.
The SE company also advised me to check the SHOP app, which I did several times for updates but again it stated no tracking number.
Then two days later, I received another email from them stating customer services have closed the case.
Then today I received an email stating the application has now gone to the courts.
Does anyone know or experienced this before?

Thanks, I have and got the chargeback on the day I called. Now getting threats and they are taking me to court?Sensory education (cheap disability aids). I found out they are on trust pilot and wish I read the reviews before buying.

If you have not got the goods. Then they are bluffing, as that is all too fast. Even if it went to court, a Judge would not be impressed by their actions. Unless they have proof of delivery to your address.
Also you can not stop the chargeback, nor cab your bank. They could dispute it, but to do that they have to provide proof of delivery.Life in the slow lane1 -

I thought that and was shocked having received an email threatening court action a week after a chargeback. Is it strange that they wouldn't give me proof of delivery? Also, I am away for Christmas and was wondering what if the items arrive after 30 days on my return? Do I send them back?0 -
Yes, if they arrive you need to contact them to arrange return if you do not want them.Life in the slow lane0

And if I do want them, shall I offer to make a new payment? But will it be too late if they have really applied to courts?

If you want them, then you pay for them. The court stuff is an irrelevance.0

To reiterate what others have said:
- They haven't taken you to court. They probably haven't even sent the goods out otherwise they'd be able to provide a tracking number. They are just trying to scare you into handing over money.
- If the goods turn up you have two options.
1. You can keep them and pay for them
2. You can make them available for the retailer to collect.
You do not have to pay for them, nor do you have to pay to return them yourself. Do not feel in any way pressured to do either. Simply email the retailer to tell them the goods have arrived and when it's convenient for them to collect.
However I doubt the goods will turn up, they haven't sent them and since they've not been paid they won't be doing.2 -
Sensory education are previously known as Cheap Disability Aids and are famous for doing this. They're an awful company, don't send goods, overcharge, threaten Court.

Wow, I just took a peek at their Trust Pilot, and I don't think I've ever seen a company that low rated from hundreds of reviews.2
