British Gas Customer of Many Years - There new accounting system

Hello.

I have been a customer of British Gas for a number of years, they emailed me at the end of november to say that my account had been closed and moved to their new accounting system with a new account number. My account balance has moved across OK. 

However my December DD has not been taken, it usually gets taken on the 17th of each month and my Government refund of £67 has not hit my bank accouunt as per usual. I pressume this is because they have not taken the usual DD. 

On inspection it looks like they only reset up my DD on 21/12 using my usual details, so it appearts that they have not taken my December payment nor thaat they are going to. This will obsiously cause my account balance to dip significantly and my DD will need to go up to account for this month of none payment. Also I am concerned my £67 is lost. 

Has anyone else had an issue with BG and there super new accounts system?

    You can make  a manual payment to your account any time you like, by phone or online. to cover the missing DD. Then contact BG to request the missed EBSS payment.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    My DD went out on 15th,as usual and does show in my payment history. My £67 refund arrived in my bank today, 23rd as usual but does not show in my payment history.
    As your dd date is 17th I would guess that your £67 is not due yet but in 2 working days.
    Their new system seems to be a right mess but some are confident it will sort itself out eventually. See this recent thread.

  • My credit from the old account £1395.48 has not been carried forward to my new account, My December payment £541 has been taken and this shows in my new account, The new account people say they cannot see my old account so can do nothing. The old account people just say that they are sure it will be sorted soon. We are nearly a month in and it hasn't been sorted yet.
  • It has been one issue after another for me was moved over to the new system in November my balance has still not moved across to the new account the direct debits are being taken and shown in the new account but the £67 for December has not been credited. They have also assured me the account number change will not affect the warm home discount I am in Scotland and had to apply and used the old account number unfortunately I do not have any confidence in them.
    The new account system lacks so much which the old account system offered there is nothing better about it as far as I can see
