I sent some off 2 weeks ago tomorrow, I had quite a few so was going to send them off in 2 batches and send the 2nd batch off when I get the 1st ones back. So hopefully they will come soon.

I asked for proof of postage, but she couldn’t do one as it’s a Freepost address with no postcode.

  • I sent first and second class stamps and got the same number of first class stamps back so worked out well for me

I sent first and second class stamps and got back all second class - and fewer than I sent! Wish I'd taken a photo of what I sent or at least written down the value but to be honest I use so few stamps now that the ones I got back will probably last me the rest of my life anyway. How we managed to collect so many is beyond me.

Ok thank you. I didn’t know that, I’ve already sent the one batch off. I hope I receive the replacements. I am starting to lose faith, as it’s been 2 weeks. I haven’t lost anything financially as they were all from Kantar surveys.

I still don’t get why you can’t exchange them at post offices, as you can buy stamps from there.

Because Royal Mail would probably have to pay Post Office for the inconvenience of handling and returning all the old stamps back to Royal Mail.

And the Post Office Counter staff may not be equipped to do the checks Royal Mail appear to be doing to reject counterfeits.

It took 2 weeks when I did mine in the early days - so don't worry until at least 3.

They arrived today! And they have sent me the exact ones I’ve sent 24 x 1st and 15 x 1st large letter.

The enclosed letter does say that what you get back may vary from what you send.

I have another batch to send - so will do that asap.

Will it get flagged if I send another batch over?

This is interesting, from an article in the Guardian last month -

"According to Martin Lewis’ MoneySavingExpert.com website, some people have stockpiled stamps in order to beat price rises, and in some cases have more than "£1,000 worth".

The same article also mentions the 6 month grace period.
