Halifax Reward Extras: "Stay in credit."
Comments

Every single month this happens to me and I’ve got the credit.
i did lose it last month as made a mess of debit card payments and spent 17p under the required £500.1 -
Seems like Halifax support chat was mistaken, which isn't surprising.
I asked if staying in credit was required at all times, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I pleaded for them to take their time with answering to ensure they provided 100% accurate information. I even mentioned the different grace periods for overdraft interest not being charged, as well as allowing account balances to temporarily fall below £5,000 (for that Reward option), but there is no similar grace period specified for 'staying in credit'.
"Once the statement of your account for a specific month shows that your account was overdrawn, you won't qualify for the Reward Extras. It should be 24 hours a day, 7 days a week that you're in credit for the whole month for you to qualify."

- What happens if my balance drops below the target level?https://www.halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/reward-extras.html Scroll down to the FAQs
To get a reward each month, you need to make sure your balance stays at or above your offer’s target at the end of each day.
For ‘the spend £500 on debit card’, the target is £0. For ‘Maintain a balance of £5,000’, the target is £5,000.
If your balance is below the target at the end of the day, then you won’t get your Reward for that month. We check your balance at the end of each day.
If your balance falls below the target during the day, just make sure it’s at or above the target by the end of the day.

I go in to the overdraft a few times every single month, due to me moving money around to get bonuses such as this. It's always back to credit by the end of the day, and I have never had an instance of not receiving the reward.0

We have numerous £500 SO`s, each on a different day, go from hub account to Halifax Reward accounts with very little balance and back again to hub all on same day and always received the £5 rewards. Of course, 3 x £500 SO for each Reward account each month plus one £500 debit card payment taken after £500 top up from hub each month.

I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -

The irony here is that the actual T&Cs do not mention or imply any "target level" of £0 for the debit card spending offer.
My mistake was deferring to the binding product literature and forgetting about an FAQ on a marketing web page. I also do not believe staff should provide such specific answers that were incorrect (e.g. mentioning the statement showing overdraft usage and maintaining credit 24/7); if they have limited product knowledge, they can take their time to answer if necessary because it's not a phone call.

What's the title of this thread?soulsaver said:Did you miss 'Stay in credit' in the Reward Extra terms?
I was obviously asking for clarification, about whether a grace period exists for the debit card spending offer, because the T&Cs don't mention it.0 -
