UKPC Ticket for staying on retail car park after closing time

Hello!
I just spent plenty of time reading old posts as well as FAQ, but I still feel I have some questions.
So here is my case:
Recently I was parking at Retail Car Park run by UKPC which is BPA member and got fined £100 charge which for the first 14 days is discounted to £60.
I got the letter saying Re: Parking Charge, they also included CCTV photos of my Licence Plates on it.
The reason of charge is that I have parked there outside carpark opening hour(Its open until 22:00 and I was there 22:08-22:29).
When I arrived barrier was opened, but when I came back to my car from the nearby store it was already closed, but luckily guy who closed it was still at place and kind enough to let me out.
Is it better to pay that or what should I do as I had no idea they are closing it at 22:00 as some stores around are still open then(ASDA up to midnight), but they have their own separate car park. I need to add its completely free to park here.
Thanks for your help.
Best wishes!

Pretty well identical to a UKPC case in a Reading retail park.
The Key to this is the entrance sign ...... you need to take a picture.
In the Reading case, the entrance sign made no mention of the hours
The landlord got this one cancelled and that is your first step3 -
I just checked and I don't see any of the signs showing opening times(There is no entrance signs only some general: We are UKPC follow rules or we will charge you signs). So what then?0

The stupid BPA approve these scammers and the BPA are required to monitor car park operators ..... THEY DON'T
The BIG question is who runs the BPA ? SIMPLE ... it's the money scammers .... The BPA lost control years ago
The BPA is now a scammers paradise who betrayed goverment trust2 -
Where exactly did this alleged parking event take place?2

Horizon Retail Park in Farnborough, Hants.
I rechecked it yesterday and there are times on the sign there, but they are a bit different then expected and not at the entrance.0 -

Most UKPC signs are the same, do you have a picture you can upload here
A quick google search shows this site

They probably have an agent to manage the site, you need to ask questions to find out who can cancel this2 -

The only sign that is on the entrance says: Private Land, 2hrs max stay and to see the notices in the car par for the terms of use.
Shall I contact the managing agent to cancel it?

Plan A is always a complaint to the landowner/landholder/managing agent and your MP.
If there is no mention of parking only being permitted during site/store opening hours on the entrance sign then a motorist wouldn't know until they were inside the carpark that it was an entrapment zone.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks2 -
You should read the newbies thread and follow the advice above, but to clarify a couple of points: UKPC are known scammers they have been caught out a number of times falsifying evidence and suspended by the DVLA but re-instated.They are not an authority they have sent you an invoice not a "fine", their signage is usually rubbish, and they don't use "CCTV" its ANPR a completely different (not fit for purpose) system. You should also be aware that they want you to break the rules the more that do the more potential profit they make.Looking at SV those car parks have the usual lack of signage especially at the entrance where there is no mention of closing time that I can see.But you need up to date time/date stamped photos taken in the dark also showing the lack of illumination these will be for POPLA, you send the template appeal from here to UKPC who won't cancel what ever you say they want money not appeals. The ownership and MA contacts are here always try plan A first:
