My total rent paid to a housing association is made up of :-

Rent

Utilities charge (for energy used)

and a Service charge

to maintain the building , cleaning, garden maintenance).

I need information on how to reclaim the energy cost that everyone is entitled to

for October and November that would be £132.00

I emailed the landlords 'Your Housing Group, about 2 weeks ago but as yet had no reply.

Can you please help or direct me to someone who can?

Thank You

Has anyone said you are entitled to it? I thought it only applied to customers on their own domestic tariff - not the sort of set-up here where you're paying towards whatever tariff the HA are on.

Really needs to be in energy section (reported). But unless you have your own electric account with a supplier. Then you do not qualify for the £400.

There was talk of another scheme, but nothing further has been mentioned on this.

  • Correct unfortunately on the EBSS  - your landlord is very likely on a commercial tariff and so will get a different form of relief, which I believe they are suppose to be passing on, perhaps someone else can advise more fully on that.

The only people 'entitled' to the EBSS are those with a residential electricity account. If your supply is on a private meter then you are not entitled to the EBSS.
Your HA will not be getting it either, as they will be on a commercial tariff.

    Energy Bills Support Scheme

£400 off energy bills for households in Great Britain from this October. This automatic, non-repayable discount will be applied in six instalments between October 2022 and March 2023 to help households through winter.

There is no need to apply for the scheme and you will not be asked for your bank details.

Where does it say "everyone" or even "all households"? That applies to people with a domestic energy account, not "everyone".

"energy bills" within the wording which you quoted actually means domestic electricity bills. Unless you receive an electricity bill from an energy supplier for supply to a domestic premises, then the scheme does not apply to you.

Perhaps you could link us to your source for that? It's completely wrong.
If you were entitled to EBSS, it would have been paid automatically by credit to your electricity account or bank account, or by voucher if you have a non-smart PPM meter. There's no way to 'claim' it.
You still haven't told us how your energy is metered.
