I am trying to reply to a specific post/thread with some facts and figures which are relevant, however whenever I try I get the below message. There are no links or anything unusual in the post, some comment and figures and it is along a similar line to both posts I have made before and posts by other users. I can post a pointless comment, but not one with any numbers it it so it seems very odd that it is being blocked, especially when taking into account the amount of junk and trolls that do get past this filter, any ideas?

Hi @MattMattMattUK  - we're looking at your email about this but don't have an easy answer right now - we'll reply as soon as we are able.

I have a couple of hunches / vague suspicions about what might be causing the issue but haven't been able to put it to the test yet, and the team member who is most knowledgable about these things is off today.

Hi James, thanks for looking into it. I have tried editing the post, trimming it down, splitting it, re-wording it, dumbing it down by removing some figures, writing the figures as words etc. but it seems any reply at a level to be useful on that thread gets blocked so it seems to be very odd. I look forward to an update when you have one.

Are you using any symbols in your post? Could be something is detecting an at symbol and thinking it's an email address or something similar?

Not in the original post no, only £ and % which have no problem posting anywhere else, and this post thread contains the @ and an email address and no problem posting them either.

I hope you had a good Christmas? I wondered if there was an update on this, not that I plan to post on the original thread now as that has long gone, but it would be useful to know why a totally normal post was blocked so I can avoid that happening again in the future. Thanks.
  • Thanks for the reply on email, I understand why you might not want to post that info publicly as it might be useful to spammers, thank you for resolving.
