I'd go with the honour of "killing it"   

The day before yesterday was so beautiful and spring-like, so I took a walk in the afternoon. A swift peek in a couple of chazzers yielded a book - needed to stump up £1.20 for the privilege, but unlike Jeremy Clarkson rubbish it's not one you come across time and again in a chaz - 2 smart blouses (one Wallis) for £1 each and a scarf for £1. I resisted buying my niece any more clothes for now, she has plenty but is going through a bit of a grunge-y stage which I hope she outgrows as fast as she is growing her stature and attitude. She's not yet 8

I have been in three local charity shops in the past two days. I was looking for navy or blue accessories and a cushion to match as I have put navy curtains in one of my living rooms. All I found was a blue and white box and a blue V&A teacup.

I did see a red jumper on the £1 rail today and two books for 10p each. I also got an address book, a notebook, a M&S 50 hours burning candle and a pair of burgundy New Look Chelsea boots. That all came to £15.

I'm going to make a pot of genmaicha (green tea mixed with roasted popped brown rice) tea with my new teacup later.:) I only discovered this tea when the supermarket sent me a substitute, but I really like it.

Went out for lunch today. Treat from DD. We popped into a few chazzas. DD didn't find anything but I was luckier. 2 winter weight knee length dresses. Tu and Next, perfect condition, no tags but don't look worn. £3.99 each.

Popped into my local CS and managed to find a pair of black trousers (£2) and a nice white cable jumper (£3).  I also bought a 3m piece of wooden fabric which will make some lovely winter trousers, again £3.  Really pleased with that haul as was looking for a warm jumper and some black trousers.

This morning, mindful of the fact that the Met Office said something about another Beast from the East with temps of minus eleven coming soon, I was delighted to find a really pretty Petit Bateau snowsuit for my one year old granddaughter for the princely sum of £2.50. 

I just looked it up online and it was originally £94 new (!!), in the PB sale for £47, so £2.50 was a fab bargain.

They grow so quickly at that age, so the buy chazzer - wear once - wash - redonate strategy works well with dresses, a snowsuit will get a lot more wear. £94 is just silly money.

Monsoon black trousers as new but no tags £4 and a Mint Velvet casual top black with gold and white strips on cuffs and welt BNWT £79 but mine for £5.

I collect vintage cookery cookery books and today found a 1948 edition of Elizabeth Craig's 'Economical Cookery' for £2 (Sally Army in Thirsk).

I also treated myself to an Italian leather shoulder bag that converts to a backpack: I'm thinking that it might be useful as well as elegant. £6 from Herriot Hospice in Thirsk.

Two new to me dresses. £3.99 each. Next and TU and they look perfect. My first charity shop purchase so far this year.
