I found inflicting my choice of music on certain individuals provided a bit of encouragement to hurry up and get on with the job in hand. My tastes are quite varied, ranging from Rachmaninov through to Apocalyptica with a bit of ABBA thrown in. Although I do draw the line at rapcrap, garage, and grunge.youth_leader said: the builders are fantastic but I hated their choice of music when they were doing my roof!
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.4 -
If all else fails I recommend beginning learning an annoying instrument. You've no idea how much the same incorrect phrase repeated on the spinet can grate! I'm sure there are lessons for absolute beginners on YouTube for everything you can think of as well as lots you've never heard of; and if there aren't be MSE and record some yourself! Passive income can only be to the good in these straitened times.FreeBear said:

Can I recommend the Breton bombarde or biniou, double reed instruments that are often played in duets. They have the advantage of volume and can cut through the sound of an SDS drill..

That brings back memories of my brother learning the clarinet. He'd practice a piece, get to a point and play the wrong note, start again, get to the same point, play the same wrong note over and over. Drove me nuts, just waiting for the mistake, and sure enough he didn't disappoint.goldfinches said:
