If 2 ft from the boundary then definitely needs a PWN, so they can't start work until 2 months after service. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thank you all, I feel quite anxious about it but as it's so near Christmas, will have to choose my moment to talk to them.£216 saved 24 October 20140

Invite them over for Christmas drinks. Then "How are your extension plans coming along...."?youth_leader said:Thank you all, I feel quite anxious about it but as it's so near Christmas, will have to choose my moment to talk to them.

Even if it doesn't require PP, it surely needs BCO oversight? Which mean submitted plans, which usually also means it turns up on the Planning Portal? (Ours did).

You don't need to submit plans for Building Control Approval. There are two ways of doing it.ThisIsWeird said:Even if it doesn't require PP, it surely needs BCO oversight? Thank you everyone, I saw my neighbour this morning. The conservatory is to be converted into a room, same footprint. He said he would update me, he hasn't had any plans drawn up yet and still has to arrange finance. Hopefully I will get some notice and will be able to travel while the work is happening, the builders are fantastic but I hated their choice of music when they were doing my roof!£216 saved 24 October 20143

Is he aware of the possible need for PP, BC approval and a PWN? He seems incredibly vague in his approach. No free lunch, and no free laptop

He was vague but the RCIS surveyor he mentioned is well known for his diligence, I hope he will be employing him to oversee the build.£216 saved 24 October 20140

Being on the same footprint alone won't exempt it from planning requirements. This is a mistake people often make, and a RCIS surveyor won't necessarily know the planning rules.youth_leader said:The conservatory is to be converted into a room, same footprint.

This surveyor worked for us in the past and helped us apply for planning permission, hopefully my neighbour will engage him.£216 saved 24 October 20140
