Take them to court!!
However it might be traumatic... the judge will *deliver* a verdict and it might be an *open-and-shut* case.5 -

Was the door unlocked? Why? Anyone could open an unlocked front door.
Is this a door right into your house, or a door into a porch? Many people have a porch door that they leave unlocked and that would be used by delivery drivers to leave a parcel inside the porch as safer than propped up outside exposed to the elements and less visible to passers-by.
I assume it was an Amazon driver with a reason to be at your property (i.e. delivering an order) and not just a random person who looked like an Amazon driver who then entered the house and wandered around to do as they please.2 -
Our local couriers (and the postie) does it all the time (and we're very grateful)Really don't get what the issue is....2

Oh dear, some people don't appear to have taken this question seriously . . . .
But to be honest, I'd lock my door - our door's always locked. You never know who's lurking around and one of my parents' neighbours was burgled while she was at home when her door was unlocked. She neither heard nor saw a thing. Except that her handbag containing a purseful of money was no longer sitting on the kitchen table.
Next step to take? Lock the door, delivery people then have to knock, or at the very least send you a message to say the parcel's been delivered. We always get an email or text when they've been to us.
Please don't shop an amazon driver, their job is bad enough as it is.Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Opening the door no doubt allowed cold air into the property, which could have lowered the temperature by as much as 0.1 degree. At today's energy costs, that's a lot of money.
