Can a smart meter be forced?

What specific reasons have you decided that you do not want a smart meter? 

You can ask for it to be put in non smart mode ie dumb mode same as old meter.

Or ask for a recon meter.

BEIS ruled 4 years ago that the supplier can raise a meter change charge if an analogue meter is fitted in an end-of-life situation.

They tried to charge me for the repair to the damage that they caused, they did not actually charge because I made it clear that they were the ones who caused the leak by fitting the new meter badly & it was right under my sons bedroom.  They could have killed him, I was less than amused.  In fact I was so annoyed I would have gone to court without a seconds thought.  But things like this are why I would not trust them as far as I could throw them.

All of these apologists for the unnecessary junk "SMART" meters. Why should people hsve them in THEIR HOME. Ours got fitted because the other half got hoodwinked and it doesn't work. Never has. Utter junk.

If your meters don't work how do you get billed for your energy?
