Warning transferring from virgin to O2

Giving you guys a heads up I was givin a o2 sim by Virgin media so asked to transfer my old number  from Virgin to the new O2 sim and I was charged £40 cancellation fee I ve managed to get it refunded. But any with a virgin media  who gets a an O2 sim be aware they could do this to you to.

    Yeah, if you texted PAC to 65075 the response you get should have told you that your cancellation fee (I presume this is an early cancellation fee) would be £40, as well as your PAC code.
    If you decided then to move anyway despite knowing you'd be charged £40, then its hardly surprising you were charged £40.

    I was not told this over the phone as virgin and o2 are now the same  company I was under assumption that this just transfarimg the old sim to new sim and hadn't left the comyract

    Did you ask for the new sim? Are you paying a different monthly fee?
    If the new sim was because your old sim was out of date or reported lost then the new sim should already have been attached to your number.
    My best guess is that the new sim was "for a friend" and by transferring your number to it you have cancelled your contract early.

    As this was a transfer within virgin a pac would not have been generated.
