My boiler has a flexible condensate hose - very easy to divert into a bucket when the drain blocked.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

I moved into a house with the boiler in the garage, and the drainage pipe running along the back wall of the garage. It freezes every year (Scotland, so always some cold days). I pull the pipe off at a joint and divert the water into a bucket until the weather gets milder. Bit of a nuisance but at least it's free.

It surprises me that people still don't know that this can be an issue. I know so many people who've had problems, and people talk! But I guess "you only know what you know". Keep talking people!

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?

As suggested above, these days the freezing of boiler condensate should not be an issue if the installer has complied with the regulations.

FWiW, in my new build, an electrician added a 32kW EV charging point to an existing garage plugs and lights ring circuit and signed off the electricity installation certificate without a mention of the EVSE being installed. On independent inspection, the report not only identified that the EVSE needed to be on its own dedicated radial circuit but the electrical contractor had also fitted incorrect RCBOs in a subsidiary consumer box. The Site Agent just shrugged his shoulders when he read the report.

For what it is worth, my daughter had the frozen drain problem. They had a bolier cover/home emergency contract with British Gas, who came out the same day and fixed it ... if you think you may get this problem again you could do worse than consider such cover
If what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..
