Hello All
We live completly off grid and have done so since late 1975
We have wind turbines, solar panels both water and electric, 3 diesel generators(1 very old 1 about 1978 and 1 about 3years) we have our own well and septic tank.
A large battery bank(fork lift truck type) and a 24volt 3Kw inverter etc.
We have a small wood burner with a back boiler and LPG heating.
My question is how do we claim our £400+ that everyone else is getting?
Roger

There is (or will be?) a discretionary fund managed by local councils for people that fall through the net and need support, but I'm not sure if that's up and running yet so I suggest you try your local council to see if you're eligible. There's also going to be a £200 alternative fuel payment but again details of eligibility for that haven't been released yet.1

At present, you can't. All you get is the £150 C tax rebate already issued. The £400 EBSS is for households with a residential electricity account only.
You're comparatively well off, as the only fuel you will have seen a price increase on is the LPG (and maybe the wood, if you don't have your own supply). No free lunch, and no free laptop2 -
We were lucky we filled our LPG tank back in August and only pain 5p a litre more than last year which was cheaper than the year before but the gas oil for the generators was £1 a litre which was 25p a litre more than last time.
We do get a bit of free wood from a farmer if we cut and fetch it ourselves but we do buy kiln dried Ash wood.
We also have programable valve heads on most of our radiators so we only heat rooms at times of day we use them.
