That is great news to get a new job so quickly and have the redundancy payout towards a new car.  Well done.

Very pleased to read of your success. Congratulations and enjoy the feeling of your last week working away.
  • I'm getting so rubbish at writing in this diary, maybe it's because theres a lot of change going on in life at the moment.

Tomorrow is my last day in the job and all I have to do is have a quick goodbye meeting at 10am and then go and return all company property. I should be done and free by midday. I start the new job on Monday and I am really looking forward to it. Everyone seems really nice and it seems a lot more of a relaxed work environment than I'm used to.
We got a new car. We borrowed £5k for the deposit but as soon as my redundancy money comes through it will be paid straight back. Talking of cars, I must remember to let HMRC know that I no longer have a company car.

Today was the normal 1st of the month DD day so another small chunk gone from the debt. I am just £196 away from paying my ex employer back. I hope to have that knocked on the head in a couple of weeks time, then I can move onto the next which is the TV. Just about £600 left on that.
This weekend I need to go shopping for a couple of new tops and trousers for work. I hate spending money on work clothes but needs must.

Total debt when my journey began in December 2022- £66,133.42
    Current debt May 2024- £40,064.57
    Repaid 39.42%
