Morning all
Blooming cold again. Supposed to be sunny spells according to the Beeb weather 2 degrees ( feels like - 5) .Mrs M in work so I had to get out of my comfortable pit and gird up me loins to do the nags. It was the first time I had done the early shift since my lurgy struck.as she has carrried it all bless her. Felt pretty drained by the time I got home and I only fed them and changed rugs!! The mucking out can wait till later Anyway the ABs have 'finally' kicked in and I am feeling more human. Actually got some sleep last night with out coughing and spluttering all night. Life seems to have been on hold for the last week of so.
Reluctantly cancelled our Xmas get together with friends - dont want to pass or get anything else
Supposed to be going to next doors 65th on Saturday but I think thats going to have to go the same way. The guy is diabetic and has a raft of other ailments. It's not worth the risk.
Will try to catch up when I'm more me IYSWIM
Hugs and spoons as always.
Oh and thanks for the Carols Taff. Did I spot Nos Galan the other day or did I dream it?

Mehefin, you dreamed it I think, that's not till New Years Eve, although apparently the song music became deck the halls. I was tidying/decluttering the other day and found a Nos Galan medal from my father running the race in Mountain Ash years ago, Mountain Ash being the next village along from where I'm from...

Made it safe and sound. The roads are very clear, no snow though loads of grit makes for mucky driving. My screen wash still hasn’t defrosted so I had one stop to use the stuff in the boot. I think the fluid in the car must be summer strength, should have thought of it before filling it up on Monday. Thanks for the Christmas song Taff.Welcome to Randomone too.11

Morning everyone same as everyone else here it’s freezing I’ve been out and done one of my small jobs not at work until 12 then I forgot I was asked I can’t remember by who if I would deliver some Xmas cards for the chapel they do something where you hand cards in and they deliver them for a donation someone has just grabbed me and reminded me I’ve only got 5 streets to do I don’t know how I get roped into that anyway that’s my good deed for the day . Stayed the same at WW last night must have been that dumpling that fell in my stew could have been worse but really enjoyed the meal out last night everything was on time staff were lovely food was good but I enjoyed the company more than anything a good laugh and a chat I was back home and in bed for 10 but it was nice to find a bit more about people a some funny stories. Thanks again for the carols Taff good luck with the hearing aid Gers hope everyone is staying safe and warm welcome Randomone it’s nice to have another new friend. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning all, it's bright here but still -3, brrrr. Yesterday we had a visit from DD, she stayed for a cuppa and I did a another load of washing for her, most of it was dried last night with just a few items having to be put on the airer overnight. She took all her parcels when she left but I think she wanted to stay as her house is still in a mess. The new fitted kitchen has been beset with problems and is only half finished now 😱. In any case we'll pull together if it's not useable by xmas.
Today I was woken early by someone's loud house alarm but I was so toasty in bed that I went back off to sleep. I'll be playing catch up all day but I'm only pottering about and doing my own load of washing anyway, nothing else is set in stone.
Mehefin glad you're on the road to recovery.
Random One welcome. Looking forward to getting to know you.
taff many thanks for the xmas tunes. My Dad lived in Mountain Ash as a boy before moving back over here when his step father worked on the railway.
Gers it must be the week for new hearing aids, hope you get on with yours. My Dad won't keep his in as he thinks he's wasting the battery 🙄
Take care all, stay safe and keep warm. Hugs to the poorly ones.

Morning
Lots of sun today but doubt it will do much for melting the stuff.
Chatting to one of my volunteer ladies yesterday and last Friday she had fallen and broken her backShe is really poorly in hospital now and will likely still be there over Christmas Really sad and made me think a lot about putting ourselves at risk in this weather.
I have a washing machine again thank goodness. Will crack on with ever growing pile today drying it will be the next issue. Still got one boiler issue to sort so booked the plumber for next Weds. He needs to change a valve that has broken which switches the hot water to heating at the moment they both come on together which is fine when the heating is required but usually I just use the water setting.
Getting really frustrated with the Royal Mail strike atm I was due some meds and of course they've got caught up in the mess. Time to change my preferred supplier which is a shame as its not their fault. More colateral damage on businesses I guess.
No real plans today but plenty I can do if and when I feel the need. Just edited my ASDA delivery for tomorrow .....no eggs it seems
Ruby you're welcome anytime bring the wine!
Random welcome !12 -
Taff - it must have been 'Deck the Halls' ( same tune)
I DO know Nos Galan and am impressed you have a runners medal...
I was in a choir for many years and 'Nos Galan' was one of the few seasonal pieces we sung in Welsh. Could probably burst into a croaky version of it even now but I won't inflict that on you lol.
I do think the old carols and songs have much more meaning than all the tat being broadcast day in,day out.13
