1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Sunday is another gloriously hot sunny day but I only got up at noon. Ashamed to say that I didn’t do the wu last night so that was done while my tea was brewing. Not sure what the plans are for today although I think DH has been/will be watching MotoGP races in Mugello, Italy. I will try to catch up with the cheerleading whilst drinking my first cuppa & maybe even a 2nd 😉 Dupa.
1439 - 1440 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
Florenceem, I agree with Fizz2015 “Your before pictures are a normal kitchen and your after pics are amazing” 🤩 Everything is so clean that I can see reflections of your legs in a couple of the photos 😉
Well said Fizz2015 😊 My kitchen sounds like yours - I tidy up, it gets messy, I tidy up - you get the drift 😔 Sorry to hear about the car 😔 Whatever you decide it will be the correct decision for you 😊
Great cleaning & decluttering stellata 👏 Well done on the sales & using up packaging - every little helps 👏 I bet your garden was grateful for the rain 😉
roundtuit, fingers crossed that you do meet your ‘professor’ one day soon 🤞😉 My DH is my ‘professor’ - always thinking of how to please me 😊 I forgot to mention that the B&B we stayed at had these bright & colourful silicon coasters which I took a shine to 🙂 I am now the proud owner of a set of 6 coasters which he had ordered when we arrived home on Monday 👏 🥳 Already in use & 2 manky old coasters binned - win, win 🙂
Liverpool_Anne, you did have a busy Saturday 👏 Reminds me that DSis did her washing & drying yesterday 😉 although she did have to wait until next door had finished barbecuing 😔 I think that you & OH have earned a day off so maybe just enjoy a rest regardless of the weather 😉
Florenceem, I think I definitely need to get down on my kitchen floor & give it a good scrub 😔 my problem is that once down I struggle to get back up 😔 However you have inspired me so have added to my Task List. Great news about MrF 😊 he is getting stronger each day 👏
QueenJess, I hope your Sunday with DS is thoroughly enjoyable 😊 & that you have seen the back of your illness🤞 Will DH be keeping DD occupied whilst you enjoy your day with DS? I really do admire your whole ethos re decluttering 👏 especially “I started off with 16 pairs of earrings…..I've been a bit more ruthless in this round and am getting rid of 7 pairs…..I still think I have too many earrings, but rather than dither and dither about it, I think I will move onto the next area. When I've been round the whole house I can go back round again and I'm sure I'll find more. It feels so much easier that way and less scary. Means this could take me years, but I try not to think about that and remind myself that everyday it is getting better”
Every task completed & every item out is a win leftatthetrafficlights 👏 Hope you have a lovely Sunday & can enjoy the sunshine now that it has deigned to visit you 😉😊
GrannyKate, what a lovely son 😊 How lovely of DS2 to visit garden centres with you when he suffers so badly from hay fever 👏 Fingers crossed that you can leave the gardening until it is cooler 🤞
vulpix, of all those books I only ever read the Little Women series. My other favourite when younger was the C.S.Lewis series featuring Aslan 😉 Just looked up Trentham Gardens - beautiful & I especially liked the Fairy Garden 🤩 Very pleased to hear that you have treated yourself to something new for your cruise 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏
Florenceem, your kitchen deep clean & tidy must be almost completed now that you are sorting & cleaning your fridge 😊 Egg & chips 😋 Perhaps you could plan the decluttering of your craft room rather than starting the actual decluttering 😉 A bit of rest to restore your energy reserves - after all you have earned it 👏
Excellent decluttering & tidying GrannyKate 👏 Enjoy your swim 😊
Lovely to see you back EnergyShifter 👋 Always lovely to return from sunny climes to sunny climes 🥳 I am still surprised at how fast the EDT is moving - 502 pages = 9th December last year 🤩 Enjoy the sunshine - you can imagine yourself as still being in Spain 😉 you just need a jug of sangria & some tapas to complete the picture 😊
DH is pottering in the garage, DSis is in her room & I am watching TV - another run through of Game of Thrones 😉

Hello all, everyone seems to have been busy, busy, busy.
This week I have disposed of my iron as it started leaking and took out all our electrics 😯 so I've ordered a new one. I reset the electrics and my radio alarm clock came back on but has lost it's function to change the minutes, so it's always 10 mins fast now 😂 DH has one on his side of the bed that he doesn't look at so I'll swap that for mine tomorrow as annoyingly he peers across to see mine anyway, very unsettling in the middle of the night ! If it's no good with my eyesight either we'll look for a new one with a bigger display that we can both see easily.
I took out a fridge shelf yesterday as I needed to clean it after something leaked, then silly me tried juggling with it and dropped it on the floor 😱 There was a big sigh of relief when it didn't break, but it made such a noise that it made my ears ring and DH come running ! Clumsy Clara rides again 🤣
I spent yesterday and again this morning painting new replacement fence panels but now I have run out of paint so had to stop. The paint pot is now ready for disposal along with a broken folding garden chair which I unearthed in the shed. I pulled some more weeds and broke down some wood then put it all in the green waste. This afternoon I've cleaned my cooker top and my worktops in the kitchen, following Floreceem's example, although my kitchen still is not up to that high standard, oh I wish !
MrsSD you're welcome for some spag bol any time, just give me the nod and I'll make some chunky bread to go with it. Well done on decluttering/sorting someone else's stuff ! It does give you some incentive to do one's own.
Energyshifter welcome back from Spain, hope you had a great time.
QueenJess hope you feel back to normal asap.
Sorry if I have not mentioned everyone but my mind is permanently like a sieve these days.
Take care, happy decluttering

why do I do it!!??!?!?
I mentioned to OH that I would tidy up my "office". It used to be our dining room but is now where my work desk is, my art desk is and his vast collection of cds, vinyl and wine glasses.
Having rearranged the cds a week back a lot of my art stuff got shifted. So I was starting to put that on shelves when I made the mistake of looking in a box. Full of bills and bank statements.....so I've done an hour so far sorting through that and some other random piles/trays and hope to reduce it by 75% to the mere essentials that must be saved!!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Just got back again and went through the rest of my jewellery:15,581 - ring (I only ever wear my engagement and wedding ring)15,582-15,583 - necklaces (kept 2 sentimental ones and 1 everyday one only)15,584-15,585 - tiny plastic bags (used for jewellery to send off)15,586-15,588 - bracelets - this was tough as I just love bracelets, but in the end don't wear loads of them. I kept 5 out of 8 including 3 sentimental ones; one of which is my everyday favourite. The other 2 have a stay of execution for now. I should check one that is going with DH as he did buy some charms for it historically).15,589-15,592 - plastic dividers from jewellery box15,593 - jewellery box (Buy Nothing)15,594-15,595 - jewellery instructions not neededSo after all that all my jewellery easily fits in the smaller box and the larger one doesn't really work for what I have. I will make myself some nice cardboard dividers for one drawer when I get time and bin the rest of the plastic ones that don't fit properly. The larger box I just don't need and I will put that one on Buy Nothing. I still have one box that I love.Other odds and ends:15,596 - kitchen overstock used upI will probably package up the jewellery stuff tomorrow to be sent off with the stamps. After 1 box is gone it now means that I only have 1 box on the window sill plus a pot for make up brushes... that's that 1/3 decluttering amoint that I seem to consistently be hitting everywhere. I'm going to try and continue just working through everything in the bedroom slowly until it is all done and completely tidy. I may do more kitchen or kids clothes decluttering though as "light relief"!@Mrs_Salad_Dodger Yes DH is on DD duty and took her to a fair to see lots of tractors. Fab entertainment for a 2 year old
Hopefully both will be exhausted later and will easily sleep. I'm still not feeling 100%, but very slowly getting better.

All seed trays have been emptied of the seedlings and plants that I sowed earlier in the year. They were all planted out in garden just before a lovely rain shower. Bit annoyed that new seed trays were so flimsy that they broke so they had to be binned along with all of the punnets that I recycled for planting. 2 more grow bags full of weeds filled for compost next year too. A good days work.

Well that was a bit of a surprise sold an item on FB I thought it had already gone. Clearly not, it has now though and the buyer is after some more bits which I have somewhere now needing to find them.
Did a free post offer of the sorted tupperware some of mums and mine needing to move on and that was collected within the hour and loaded into the heavy duty paper bags from morrieswin win.
UU stuff from the dregs in the fridge for tea last night and there is enough for tea tonight.
Dad wants me to go to their place another day a week - he was hinting at me going everydayas he doesn't want carers in during the day. (he just doesn't want to pay them) We are managing generally well but dad is going off his feet a bit and is not coping very well. I don't mind spending the time but I am winding down into early retirement and having to pull the purse strings in. Ouch! This is going to sting a bit.

re the seed trays - what were they? If the store bought package ones with all the tiddly little pressed paper pots then yes I quite understand. OH bought me some as a treat a couple of years back and it was only this year I used them and was less than impressed.
What has worked much better for me is either old baking trays - nice because they are solid so easy to move about. Or plastic trays from the dairy section at the supermarket. I have a mix of plain flat ones (usually found under blocks of cheese) or ones with sections for individual pots (yoghurt or cream). The bliss with these is that they are free so if they do break you won't feel guilty chucking them. But quite frankly I found most of them more sturdy than the store bought ones. Just check when you nab them that they don't have a lot of holes in the bottom - some are made that way for some reason.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I changed my mind about working in the craft ROD - instead I started to move food stash from a spare bedroom to the garage. Tins and jars are going in cardboard boxes and packet stuff in the new plastic storage boxes. What a lot of food!
When Mr F comes home - we are going to be eating from the food stash. I will save up the food shopping money and see how long I can last before shopping - apart from fresh fruit/veg and milk.
My back started to really hurt so I stretched out on the bed - phoned Mr F - he was a bit down today. Then I decided to do some reading - I nodded off!
So not got done the rest of the fridge/the ROD or the food stash. I will do the rest of the fridge tomorrow morning when I am fresh.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Had a Bedroom Blitz earlier. A few things out, a few things swapped over, bed stripped and made and a review of the summer wardrobe. I clearly don’t need more summer ‘work appropriate’ trousers! I did find my small portable fan (Which I really could have done with last night at a comedy gig, even the comedian was cracking jokes about it being like a greenhouse).I do however need to dig my sandals out.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)
