Hi All
I am so far behind on the reading of posts (P158 maybe?).I have been trying to get the right balance. You have inspired me to get to grips with those bloomin frogs and im making great progress!! Ive also made progress on getting out exercising (21000steps yesterday) but not so good on decluttering per say.
I am loving the 23 's and trying to apply it to short bursts of paperwork sorting, paper shredding and e mail deleting all are jobs i hate and very quickly catch up with me
86 - 23 items of paperwork shredded at kitchen worktop while watching veggies from boiling over
87 - 23 items of paperwork filed/shredded/recycled /binned or actioned
88- 23 minutes going through email box18 -
Mrs_Salad_Dodger said:As to the number of pairs of scissors a house needs 🤔 oh yes, one per person for each room of the house + one for luck 😂And one in the greenhouse and one or two or three little sewing snips...doh!So finally made it to the cs distribution center and got rid of a bootful of gear - black bag of clothes, black bag of throws and fleecy blankets, three boxes with star wars or jd on them, a tin, folders, dividers, bag of books, cool bag, stand mixer, bag of kitchen parapenalia, some plates, a storage box of various items including china skulls, a sat nav, a big bag of sketchbooks and art equipment, a table and my friend got rid of four bags and boes of things. It would have been rude not to look around and I bought a book. Go me! being very restrained.@Mrs@Mrs_Salad_Dodger , here are some throws, might be a bit blurry because I've dropped my phone so many times the camera doesn't focus any more, it's only good for close up now...

Finally got something positive to say here and it's not for the lack of trying.
Bagged up some jiffy bags and an old dog collar for the border collie trust as they are some of the items they are appealing for. Just need posting with the leftover stamps. So win win to both of us.
I had decluttered to old cashmere jumpers and today received my free fingerless gloves. Need to find someone to gift them to.
Oh what a dilemma I have created regards the kitchen extension.
I am having 2nd thoughts and have suggested we knock into the back bedroom from the kitchen. It would make our property into a one bed. DH thinks it will reduce the price of house(bungalow) I said it won't be our problem but will still service 2 people well. Don't think it will drop it into the lower CT band though! Already spent money on the plans. Frustrated, not great when neither can make a proper decisionWe have decided to take off the wardrobe doors in BBR as the contents will then become noisy and more will be needed to be done with them. Need to get the van booked in for a tip run. I'm hoping to make some decent progress as I am off work after this weekend for 6 weeks. May need a trip to Ikea for some storage in particular vacuum bags for clothes may need to move some to DS for a while.
Everyone posting is doing great guns.
I keep looking round for more. Have found a box of books, some read, some not. DH has a collection of motorcyclist auto biographies. They will all go when read.

QueenJess said:It's going to have to be tiny steps.... so aim today is to get through the tidying quota which will include the following:
- Put flowers in water from my birthday
- Go through some of the wrapping paper pile so anything to keep starts to be neatly folded in a pile rather than strewn around. I will pull out anything I know needs to go first so it looks better with minimal decision fatigue.
- Sellotape the last 3/4 Lego instructions together for DS and file in his room
- Put away the spare bedding from xmas that is living on the floor. It has to go in the cupboard of doom which needs to be sorted, but I can put it in a single pile in there as there is enough room for that and I can still sort out the cupboard at a later date. Will make me feel much better to get it away!
- Sort out the veg box that arrived today, clean out the fridge veg drawer and put it all away neatly
- Start the massive shredding pile and use some of the packaging I have saved to put it in recycling (we have to put shredded paper in envelopes, but luckily I have some saved in the packaging pile I am trying hard to use up)
Well thanks to a listen only work call for 90 mins, I've finished everything on the list! I feel like I've done tons, the house looks so much better, but sadly I've realised how much there is still left to do and there is a huge amount to clear up still. I liked the tasks though as I could power through them without getting sidetracked and overwhelmed with all the other things that need doing.I came across a few things to declutter as I went along and even remembered I had a big bunch of random birthday stuff in a cupboard I no longer need like hats, party poppers etc. So both tidying and decluttering done in one!1,651 - DS's stuff (recycled)1,652-1,653 - cleaning cloth completely worn out (recycle bag)1,654 - tissue paper ripped (recycled)1,655-1,663 - paper bags (recycled)1,664 - tiny broken birthday candle (binned)1,665-1,725 - birthday stuff (Buy Nothing)1,726 - cleaning stuff (Buy Nothing)1,727 - magazine (recycling)1,728-1,729 - books (Buy Nothing)That's enough for one day. Back tomorrow for more tidying and hopefully a bit of decluttering as I go.

Thursday is a tired day for me after Wednesday at SA.
I had an Optician appointment for this afternoon but stupidly took my diuretic tablet - I phoned them to ask if a toilet was available for customers. The only toilet is up a spiral staircase and can't be used by customers as they are not insured for them - obviously have to be insured for staff - I would think. So I cancelled the appointment and it is 4 weeks until another one is available - written a reminder on my diary page - do not take tablet!

I agree @vulpix, much more relaxing. Will look even better when the feature wallpaper is up on Friday night. They are very excited, which is nice as they have had a tough time of it at school recently. Roll on half term!
The nursing home have concluded their investigation and deemed my dad's black eye was caused by accident. I have mixed views on this. Eldest dd is still being ignored by her friends despite having play dates with one of the girls and we are having tears almost every night and before school most mornings. Hard to watch her go through this. Not sure what else I can say to her to comfort her. Luckily she is always greeted with a huge hug from little brother and sister when we pick her up so can hold back the tears until we get to the car.
Just one more coat on the woodwork tonight and the painting is done in the first room. Hope you are all well and huge hugs to anyone who would like one 🤗2024 decluttering Campaign

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with daily mail immediately
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Decided to do a bit of electronic decluttering of my iPad Notes App - 67 permanently deleted 🙂 + I have deleted the 4 notes I had on the cloud 🥳 DH has just received a message that his motorcycle jacket has a new zip 👏 He is just off for the first of his daily walks. My plans are now to put away washing up ✅ deal with today’s mail ✅ & start cleaning items for next CS bag - wish me luck 🍀 I got distracted from the CS items because whilst dealing with my mail I decided to thin out some of my financial folders. This resulted in 2” of shredding 🥳 as each time I file something I try to thin out one or two folders - I am finally being braver in getting rid of paperwork 😉 I have also written a menu plan & started a shopping list, done some knitting & I am now clearing down a few programmes from TV planner. DH has completed 3 quarters of his daily steps, filled the bird feeders & removed the backboard of his office desk & cut out spaces for two cabling grommets (one of the tasks we discussed yesterday 👏) He also took a photo of a nearby bathroom company on his walk - the first nibble at the Cane Toad task of getting a new bathroom 👏
Back to cheerleading for the next 45 minutes starting 5:55 p.m.
Excellent decluttering Liverpool_Anne 👏 Hope the lie down helped clear the stonking headache 🤞Enjoy the football 🙂 perhaps you will be able to attend next years Union Conference 🤞
Excellent work grandmanerd 👏 Congratulations on reaching your 2023 target by dint of hard work & consistent decluttering - one Gold Star ⭐️ on its way 👏 Well done on contacting Waste Wizards & great news that they have cleared the first load of bricks 👏
Great idea for grandmanerd re the vinyl collection, pollyanna_26 👏 Thank you for the lovely chatty post especially the bit about how you used the decluttering book 🤣 It obviously worked 😁
GrannyKate, hope you enjoyed DGD4’s concert 😊 How on earth have you resisted using your new 🦈cleaner 🤨 Whenever I get a new toy I unpack it & use it straight away 😅 Of course it then remains unused for months before I use it again 😔 Good luck with your looming large frog 🍀 Perhaps a little tickling first to get you in the mood 😉
Excellent decluttering Ginmonster 👏 One medal 🏅 is coming your way for taking the time to re-cover the kitchen chairs & adding to your skill set 👏 Very pleased to hear that you are getting joy from admiring your decluttered areas 😊
Well at least I have caught up a little but am now signing off as DH & I are about to make dinner.

Just been organising for 23 minutes (amazed the difference it makes!). This is the end result:
just need to add 2nd dds squirrel uniform to the top box. Scarves etc contained within the box too - should make our busy night easier. Need to track down 1 pair of knee and elbow pads and add to top shelf. Bottom shelf houses the helmets and in the box i have housed all the dcs waterproofs. The waterproofs are 🐸 7; been left in a pile since Xmas. All safely housed in the cupboard under the stairs. Going to tackle my next frog once the dc are in bed.

Hello everyone 😁. Hope you're all doing okay. Just popping on quickly, I've managed another quick declutter today. Today's decluttered are:
54 & 55 Toothbrush heads (for a toothbrush I no longer have 😬
56. Brush
57. Highlighter (dried out)
58. Old phone box (for a phone that went many, many, many years ago).
59 - 64. Random computer discs (for computers long gone).
65. Spare money pot
I've got the fun task of trying to repair the laptop at the weekend. It died spectacularly; we think it's the hard drive 🙄. I've got a refurbished drive to put in now, so I'll soon find out 🤞🍀🤞.
