Yep, can't beat gmail imho. Has a nice feature you can add text to the address to help with tracking, i.e address is joe.soap@gmail.com, you can use joe.soap-youtube@gmail.com as a subscriber address. Emails will still get to you and you will know the source if they sell it on.
I also use iCloud email, which has a nice feature where you can generate random and nonsense email addresses, again can be useful where you are forced to enter and email address, random as in thatcher_emblob_0b@icloud.com.
Kind Regards,

Thanks all, I think our quoted friend has given me a different way of approaching my prob, hopefully pulling away from gmail app, therefore maybe resolving issues. this two-step is proving to me that i now have to write the pw down, so i can recall it. If you have two-step on properly it should almost never ask for your password. I log in on my iPhone (via built in Mail app), work laptop and personal laptop (both via web) and it never asks for my Google password except for the first occasion.spurdog1 said:

Can you explain why two-step means you need to write down your password?spurdog1 said:

I'll throw in GMX. Never had a problem with it and it does most of what GMail does...Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

When I switched broadband provider years ago to Virgin it came with a preset email address. I simply told it to forward all emails to my Yahoo account and it has done so ever since with no problems.I do have Gmail but use that for some specific accounts/transactions.0

Personally I would only use either Gmail, Microsoft or Apple depending on the eco system you live in.
Others are likely over time to disappear, even Yahoo have for many terminated the use or started charging when the user has changed from their ISP who used it as their backend.
Personally I have my own domain and use the domain service to forward emails. It means I can have accounts for each family member and be able to create unique email addresses for each service / site I use. I can then freely move email services if required or even multiple at a time.0
