Good advice. I always advocate folk sticking by their word and holding the other side to account. Its not money saving to give up 15k when all you had to say was "no". Those who will advocate readily accepting reductions, are mostly interested in proving their own house price crash fantasy. The reality is 15k vs 485k is nothing and no one should entertain any last minute antics!..."i am unable to consider a reduction because all my finances are based on the price you agreed several weeks ago..."oatkinso said:Update. Buyers have completely dropped their demands for £15k off my property. If anyone in the future reads this, don't believe what you've already read about Gazundering, you're not in as bad a position as its made out. Say no in the first instance.1 -

Would you care to back up that statement with any evidence?Sarah1Mitty2 said:I doubt the EA cares that much, quite a few have gone bust by now I should think, they will deal with anyone to keep trading.
Seems highly unlikely. Can't comment on EA's going bust, but we offered on a house where buyer mucked us about and lied (or the couple just weren't talking properly to each other) about things. We pulled out and found out we were the 3rd buyer who had done so.The Estate Agent said they'd stop representing them as they'd dealt with all 3 sales and put in a lot of effort (house was at upper end of the market internally area).Four months later we got a phone call from the same agents asking if we were still interested as the house had come back on the market at a higher price. We had just bought so refused.House 'sold' again after a few weeks but that also looks to have fallen through too, expect it will reappear in January with same agent
May you find your sister soon Helli.

Crashy's getting more and more bizarre. I expect this account will also get banned shortly.RelievedSheff said:

Seems highly unlikely.Aren't people allowed to express an opinion now; even a 'bizarre' one? Is that a banning offence? We have evidence of EAs going bust in the past. I was employing one who drank himself out of the job in 2008. His frustrated sidekick gave me all the inside gen on the mental state of agents locally at the time. It was hilarious. Two more also 'disappeared' that year, plus the one who rented a house to us in 2009. It was 'interesting' getting our deposit back from him! However, I'd agree, it's too early for the downturn to be causing mass bankruptcies in the EA sector, especially as many will be managing rentals, if not flogging so much property.
