Ok I haven't reported it so will do0

re AskMid. I put MY car in and all it said was that it WAS insured. No policy details0

You are using the wrong section... there is a section to check your own vehicle which gives a yes/no answer for today and a third party section where you also need to enter a date etc and pay a fee and it will then advise the insurer and policy number on the date of the incidentcastle96 said:re AskMid. There’s been no offence committed that requires a crime report so there won’t be a crime number given.m0bov said:Make sure you get a crime number as well for your case.1 -
Will I get a crime number as he drove away from the scene without telling me he caused damage +if it hadn't had been caught on CCTV he would have got away with it)Gave me a fake addressRefused to give me his car insurance details.0

He gave me the address of his boss's house for some strange reason.0

Well if he's contactable via that address then it isn't fake.iceangel8 said:He gave me the address of his boss's house for some strange reason.0 -
Police will say its an insurance matter. If you had only their reg or such then the police may send a producer to confirm the driver, address, insurance etc but as long as they responded to that it wouldnt go any further unless it wasnt insured etc. Given you've already exchanged details they wont be interested.iceangel8 said:Will I get a crime number as he drove away from the scene without telling me he caused damage +if it hadn't had been caught on CCTV he would have got away with it)Gave me a fake addressRefused to give me his car insurance details.
Your/his insurers wont particularly care and if they ask for a crime reference number its because its part of a script and everyone gets asked the same.1
