Overestimation by shell energy

Shell IS NOT asking you to pay anything: it is asking you to put money into your account from which charges for energy used are deducted.

If you are happy to pay very high bills over the next few months rather than having a level monthly payment then that is your decision.

As you appear not to have provided any usage information in kWh/year (along with your credit/debit balance) then it is impossible to know whether Shell is being unreasonable or not.

So tell "Mr Shell" that you want to pay variable direct debit, and if they don't offer that then pay in cash on receipt of bill.

You will pay for exactly what you use each month, no estimation (as long as you give meter readings).

If you do, please don't return in February with "Shell have sent me a massive bill for January, is this legal?"
