If you’re on the app

1. Tap on the human icon on the top right
2. Settings
3. Biometric approval
4. Manage biometrics
5. tap on the bin icon and confirm

according to the faq, if you do that you should be able to use other security methods like a card reader.

Thanks - yes, I managed but it did involve  yet another go at getting recognised.   A bit easier this time.

I've just removed it - nightmare couldn't get it to work - so removed it BUT to remove it you had to use biometric face recognition!! managed to get it to work on the 3 attempt. A poor security implementation by RBS - there needs to be an alternative - what happens if your phone is stolen

Don't need a phone for online banking with RBS, will need a card reader. 

PS app works just fine for me.

App has been working fine for me for the last couple of years. I think it’s actually one of the better ones though some people have reservations about the proprietary biometrics implementation. Whilst I don’t understand what made the Natwest group to experiment with their own implementation, it does not cause me concerns and I am happily using it. Anything is better than those card readers 😃
