Capital One Cashback - Paid 17/12/

Hi all,
I paid off my Cap 1 c/c in full on 24th of December.
Since then due to an unhappy experience with Dixons Online  I will shortly be given a refund of £750 on my card, leaving me with a substantial credit.
I've learned that it's not a good idea to withdraw cash on a credit card, but is that still true in this instance as this £750 is actually mine and doesn't belong to Cap 1 ?
Failing that, I assume it's just up to me to spend using my c/c as normal and the credit will slowly disappear (shame as I can't earn interest on it ...)
cheers, Bev.0 -
Hello to you all....I've just signed up as I'd like a little clarification from those who posess a Capital One Card.
I took out the card in June.
Since then I have had four statements, as follows:
£171.52
£2784.42
£586.02
£678.19
£775.170 -
Hello to you all....Yes I know I screwed up the previous post......I've just signed up as a new member so please bear with me.
I'd like a little clarification from those who posess a Capital One Card.
I took out the card in July 2008.
Since then I have had 6 statements, as follows:
£171.52 July 18th
£2784.42 July 31st
£586.02 2nd Sep
£678.19 4th Oct
£718.85 4th Nov
£775.17 2nd Nov
After reading a post that stated they had received their cashback in their December statement I checked my online account and gave Capital one a call. I've been advised that my entitlement to 4% for the first three months is only if my first 3 statements were in excess of £1500 and that the 4% cashback in my case, will only be applied to my July 31st statement. I may have mis-read the terms, and certainly intend to re-read them tonight but I was certain from what I'd read, that the scheme Capped the 4% cashback at £1500 for a period of three months.
I've been advised that my rebate will be paid in January, and the operator calculated this to be £131.77
Based on my calculation of 4% capped at 1500 per month for the first three months, I would have achieved a £90.30 rebate, with the remainder statements (678.19 + 718.85+ 775.17) x 1%= 21.72 +90.30 i.e 112.02
Would someone clarify what rebate I should expect...I don't think I could bear another call to capital one.
Many Thanks

But I also had a phonecall saying they'd received notification from mastercard that my card was or is about to be used fraudulently so I can't use the card for the next 7-10 days.
Just started reading this thread as I should have got my 2008 cashback yesterday and realised this was a thread from 2007.
Anyway, I go to pay for my Tesco delivery with my card today and it's refused. When I ring Capital One I get told exactly the same as above - it's in a batch that may be about to be used fraudulently and is cancelled. I now have to wait for a new card etc etc. I'm reassured their fraud department is working so efficiently but is this just too much of a coincidence??? I can't spend anything until the new card arrives and I know I'm going to have a problem with a refund I need against a purchase that is too small (different card number being issued).
Any ideas?0
