I purchased a car from Carzam in May this year and they have since gone into administration. I paid the deposit on credit card.
I have had a few issues with the car recently (engine warning light often coming on) They also failed to sort some other minor issues which I reported which will incur other costs and I am wondering what my options are in terms of section 75.

Is it possible to claim any repair costs from the credit card company or would they only get involved if a full refund was required?

Thanks

They are jointly liable with the merchant so if legally the merchant would have had to pay and s75 applies then the credit provider has to.

Was it a new car or secondhand? Your bank is likely to ask you for an engineers report to consider the fact you've had the car 6 months and so are the issues unreasonable for a car of this age/present when sold to you or is it just the nature of running a car.

Presumably it was under the £30k limit for S75?

Best to speak to them & see what they would require.

Certainly a report of the issue, but let them guide you.👍

Used car, just over £10k.   Car is in garage next week I just wanted to know where I stood with s75 before making any decisions.
There were various issues I reported when receiving the car
(missing documents/missing spare key/brakes squealing and stop/start not functioning) that they didn't resolve before going into administration and at the time I had accepted those costs as a loss, but the engine issue may be much more costly…

Thanks, will get in contact with bank.
