Hello @SMcGill - have you previously installed the MSE app on one of your devices? I'm just wondering if that might be a factor here.

Just tried, can't get the result you got, OP.

Hi Op
Could it be the banner you clicked on that asks you to register?

No I haven’t. It could be my password manager as I’ve cleared my cache and I’m still getting that pop up asking me if I want to use my saved password (even though I’m already logged in). Goodness knows how to sort that though if it’s the problem.Could it be the banner you clicked on that asks you to register?Do you mean the one that asks you to sign up for MSE emails? That’s the only pop up banner I get, the problem is occurring when I just click text links
Thanks everyone for trying to help. Sounds like it’s an issue with my iPad rather than a MSE coding glitch as nobody else is having the same issues.0 -
I agree that it looks like a browser-saved password/password manager issue, especially in light of it not being reproducible from a different browser. It's possibly recognising the weekly email signup section as a login prompt, realising you're on the "moneysavingexpert" website, and then suggesting the "forums.moneysayingexpert" password as suitable credentials. My password manager auto-filled those boxes when I tried to "login" on that page.1

Might be related, or not, but I - browsing the forum on my desktop, as most days - am having to log in every hour or so today.
Not proactively prompted, but I notice I am not seeing the "Thanks" given and sure enough, I have been logged out. Not sure what is going on, there is a thread on Site Feedback forum already mentioning login issues, but no MSE response so far.3
