2c in 4 hours 16.6c to 14.6c outside temp now showing -1.1c4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.0

15.5℃ now, not even 3hrs after the heating off.0

My lounge is always the coldest room due to being above the cellar. Heating went off at 8pm last night & highest temp was 18.2c. Heating is off all night & goes on again at 5.30am. Lowest temp then was 13.2c. Heating has been on for 1.5hours now & it’s up to 16.7c in here. If I’d had the downstairs doors closed it would have heated up a little quicker. I have a thermometer/hygrometer jobby that records the high/low in the past 24hours.Usually I’d only have the boiler running for an hour in the morning while I got ready to leave for work but I’m working from home now with a puppy to look after, so the bills will be higher. This is in a 2 bed victorian mid terrace with solid brick walls & the loft insulation was last fitted to code in 2013.0

If the sun is out during the day, then the south facing rooms heat up without the heating on.
Over night though, the bedroom was 19.8 when I went to bed, and 19.4 when I got up - about .5c in 9 hours.
The underfloor heating helps loads, as the floor stays warm for at least 12 hours after it’s turned off.0 -
Unscientifically, when the heating went off last night (9pm) the lounge had got to 19c. Just checked this morning (7am) and it'd dropped to 13c. No heating overnight.
So that's 6c in 10 hours, and it's -3 outside.
Good? Bad?

Good? Bad?The fastest drop in temperature would have been in the early part of the cooling period. I'm guessing your home dropped 4C in the first 5 hours.
3 bed det. built 2021. 2 occupants at home all day. Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30i combi boiler heating to 19-20C from 6am to midnight, setback to 17.5C overnight, connected in EMS mode to Tado smart modulating thermostat. Annual gas usage 6000kWh; electricity 2000kWh.0 -

Ho hum, it is what it is.
1990s 4 bed detached. Double glazed, with cavity walls done, recommended loft insulation.
We do have a chimney (behind a gas fire) and have blocked the flue.
We also have a (closed off with external rated doors) conservatory on the back of the lounge, which keeps the worst of the cold off the lounge itself, only one little window is exposed to the outside directly.
Actual gas* used, 12 months to end of November only 7700 kwh, so can't be THAT bad!!
*Includes gas hob and all hot water.

7700kWh annual use is much better than the average home's 12000kWh, so I agree, actually not that bad at all.
So I'm wondering if there was something different last night - an open window, or you are in an exposed location, or the house hadn't been at 19C for very long when the heating went off. Lots of variables!

Like I said all very unscientific.
