Energy Efficiency Grants - In desperate need. Where can I apply?

Hi all,
In summer I bought my first house on my own. The EPC is rated E, and now it's colder it's really starting to show. I have my heating on for 1 hour in the morning, and 2 hours in the evening (from 5pm-7pm). The temperate struggles to hit 17 degrees when the heating is on, and it rapidly plummets to under 14 degrees when the heating is off. I can't afford to have the heating on any longer. My energy bill is already at £140pm with the current times I have my heating on. I am in desperate need of energy efficiency improvements such as loft insulation. I know that there are grants available, but I never get a reply from any of the websites online. I have applied via British Gas (my energy supplier) but they haven't responded yet. I earn £22,500, and I have less than £5,000 in savings, so I believe I should be eligible for these grants.
Edit: I also have single glazing in my kitchen, some radiators are old and 2 windows at the front of my house could do with being replaced. Are there grants available for these?
I understand the application process will take months, I am just desperate to get the ball rolling! I am based in Lancashire if that helps.
Thank you!

You would qualify for a Warm Homes grant from your local council. But funding is limited, and much of it will have already gone. Still, give them a call and see what help they can provide. There are plans currently under discussion for further help/funding due to kick off in April 2023 called the ECO4+ scheme - This might provide some worthwhile funding, but I suspect the cowboys will be jumping on the bandwagon to get their snouts in the trough along with the regulars. I dare say much of the work will be overpriced and of a low standard...Either way, I very much doubt you will get anything done until spring at the earliest. In a similar position here - Old, cold, and draughty house. Don't qualify for any worthwhile funding. Have been slowly replacing doors & windows and insulating where I can. Loft is up to 300mm, all the windows are done, and I'm insulating the walls myself as/when time/money allows. Gone from bloody freezing in winter to reasonably comfy. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
