Bank payments not arriving BS

Simple question, but the effort of finding out by phone or chat (which is not working) would be disproportionate.
There is some problem with payments I made to a Building Society from HSBC current account. They are taking something like a week or more to arrive, a couple not yet. Even when they are a new standing order made days previously. Problems with several payments to this same BS. When I looked at my HSBC account I noticed that these payments alone have a green blue colour. I cannot find any reference to what this may mean online.
shouldn't there be little or no delay?
Does anybody know what this colour signifies, or anything else relevant?

Why keep secret the name of BS?My payments to Nationwide are virtually instant. Payments to YBS are slower IIRC, but the same day.In your case I'm pretty sure HSBC isn't the one to blame.1

Well S/O go via faster payments.
So best guess is, do they all go to a internal acc @ B/S and then get sent to your own acc?
But as above which B/S?Life in the slow lane1 -
BS is Skipton, it's not necessarily their fault.Sorry my posts so long - not time write shorter ones.0

should show same day
Some BS like Mansfield / Monmouth only process incoming payments once or twice a day0 -
Are you sending to 207891 70798924 and quoting your 9 digit Skipton account number correctly in the reference field?30+ years working in banking1

The requirement for Faster Payments is that they must arrive at the destination account by the end of the business day following the business day on which they are sent (although the vast majority arrive much sooner). The problem with Building Societies that use a Roll Number to identify a member's account is that the timing applies to the arrival at the Societies Collection account, I'm not aware that there are any regulations governing how long the Society then has to update the balance for the correct Roll number. You might have to look at the T&Cs of your specific account, or the general ones for Skipton accounts, to see if there is any time limit given.

Thanks everyone who tried to help.
I worked out the answer to one silly question of mine, what did the green-blue colour on amount of some payments mean? Simply payments into my account are given this colour! I never noticed before because seeing amounts and payer/payee I never had any doubts which it was. But now I've got payments back from utilities and banks which most times are out payments and it took me time to puzzle out.
Flo, I think it might be something like that. I think these numbers, though long, were correct, I was careful, but it might be another number, a 'reference number/letters' if I remember, that they need in order to know what the payment is. My problem with this is that I need to know what the payment is! Because SOsCan last a long time and when I see them in my accounts I can have forgotten what they are for, even who they are to is hard or impossible to see sometimes. So I like to give them references that I can recognise! I will try and find out from them now or by trying.Sorry my posts so long - not time write shorter ones.0 -
That's the problem then Ted - if you put in what you can recognise it will fall into their rejections so will never to auto applied.30+ years working in banking1

The account references building societies want you to use are usually stated clearly in passbooks and/or on letters they send you. You should also be able to see them against the account in internet banking.
Edit: In addition to having the paperwork, I make note of all these things in MS Money but otherwise a spreadsheet would do.1 -
You should have a list of your standing orders in either banking APP or in Online banking. Telling you exactly what they are.Life in the slow lane1
