You're doing so so well EAMD. What a rational way of approaching property purchase. I don't think I had anyway near such a good idea of what the expenses would be when I started out.

  • Morning all,

My gran has been moved hospital as she was getting better but it seems to have had an adverse effect so mum is back off to see her tomorrow.

Also the top of her bowel has collapsed so not good. She is on medication to try and sort it but not sure what will happen if the medication doesnt sort the problem. So not in the best of moods today.

Just been and picked up the rose for my girlfriend (she prefers a single rather than a bunch! How lucky am i!:rotfl: )

    Hi V,

Thanks, im getting there but now is when the hard work starts as im not getting my overtime so debt reduction will be by belt tightening!

Can some please have a look at this budget and see how realistic it is, alot of my questions about if the bills were that amount each dont seem to have got answered. Want a really clear picture of what sort of position i'll be in.

My half of bills from household

£440.00 Mortgage (Including Insurances) (as a guess - P what would be a rough guide on a £140,000 mortgage? )
£100.00 Council Tax (as per guess) (Is this each or between us?)
£33.00 Water (Is this each or between us?)
    £50.00 Gas/Elec (Same as above?)
£25.00 B&C Insurance (Same as above?)
    £10.50 TV Licence (Each)
£75.00 Food (This is each does that sound realistic?)
£12.50 Phone/Internet (Mobile from work is free and has loads of minutes so dont need home phone really) (This is each)

    Total: £746

    My expenses

    £245.06 Loan
    £100 Petrol
£100 Car savings (paying for bills - mot, insurance etc)

    Total £445.06

    Grand total £1,191.06
    Take home per month £1,180
    Leaving -£11.06

If the expenses I've been given are to be halved then it would be

My half of bills from household

£440.00 Mortgage (Including Insurances) (as a guess - P what would be a rough guide on a £140,000 mortgage? )
    £50.00 Council Tax
    £16.50 Water
    £25.00 Gas/Elec
    £12.50 B&C Insurance
    £10.50 TV Licence
£75.00 Food (This is each does that sound realistic?)
£12.50 Phone/Internet (Mobile from work is free and has loads of minutes so dont need home phone really) (This is each)

    Total: £642

    My expenses

    £245.06 Loan
    £100 Petrol
£100 Car savings (paying for bills - mot, insurance etc)

    Total: £445.06

    Grand total £1,087.06
    Take home per month £1,180
Leaving £93 a month out of which i'd need to pay for bowling and pool

Either way i need everything cleared (including the loan) which would then give me £338 a month to myself for going out and for other savings etc which would be manageable i think.

    Sorry for the mammoth post!:o

Need a :coffee: after that, who else wants one?

  • Just been told my Gran has gone down hill again. They cant get fluids into her properly.

Just when you think things are looking up, they go downhill again :( Part of the reason they moved her is cause my aunt is to f***ing lazy and wanted her to be closer.

She just waited till my mum and other aunt have gone home and then asked

    Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • Cheers P, hope you dont think that was a dig at you, just read it back and it sounded like it was

Thanks, just want to know what sort of position i'll be in, in advance. Yea birthdays etc would come out of the spare money, would also build up a general back up fund "just in case"

Got another 2 £2 coins last night, now upto £48! Nearly hit the first magical £50!:j

Might use this towards a bike! Still havent decided on that one although think im going to go for it.

Also havent decided about which order to pay the cards off in yet. I know i should pay off the mint first but it would be nice to get rid of the Barclaycard so its one less to worry about.

Right time for a :coffee: and a bacon roll! Anyone else?:D

I want to make a payment today but not sure which one to clear first

PS clear barclaycard first then as much of mint as poss during 0% then BT to Barclaycard if you can negotiate another low rate or abbey when 0% expires...

Also now onto round numbers! Dont know what it is, bugs the hell out of me when there are odd pence on a balance!:rotfl:
