• I too have been had. Ordered perfume & paid for it 8th of nov. When it didn't show and i couldn't contact the company I rang my bank as i had paid by debit card. They put a stop on the card immediately and told me once 30 days had passed they would investigate and try to get my money refunded. I too will contact my local trading standards.

• Would anyone else who has ordered products from Smellperfect.com that have failed to arrive, please also complain to messenger@ecenica.com
Ecenica is the Company that host the Smellperfect.com web site. They tell me that they have a "zero tolerence policy" against web site abuse. Hopefully, this will mean that they will pull or cancell the web site if they receive enough complaints.

We have reported smellperfect.com to Watchdog and Trading Standards and would strongly suggest anyone else ripped off by them to do the same. TS told us to send them a letter threatening taking it further so we have and sent it recorded delivery. Please keep me posted if you guys have any luck with them. Thanks

I have just checked today and I am delighted that both websites seem to have been closed down as I cannot get into them. RESULT!

Hi, The wife has done the same as most of you (lessons learnt), anyway we contacted our local Trading Standards and they done some investigations. SmellPerfect is a trading name of a company Pleasure 4 you 2, we then carried out a search on the companies house site to see if they were still trading and to get an address & contact. I then Googled the postcode which then informed me that it was the accountants address with a telephone number, rang them and gave a poor girl some polite advice and also forwarded the info onto the TS as well. a few day before Xmas I was refunded the total amount.
Good luck to anyone else who has been stitched up.:rotfl:
I would be interested to know who you contacted to do this as I am still trying to get a refund and so far having no luck. Many thanks
• It would appear that the "Smellperfect.com" web site has been closed - hopefully as a result of responsible action by the host company Ecenica, following pressure applied by users of this web site, although when I talked to Ecenica last week, they were dragging their heels a bit!

Leeds Trading Standards are investigating this company. A Carol Forbes from TS attempted to visit the registered address of the Company - "Fairlea", Wetherby Rd, Leeds LS14 3BB, which is occupied, but protected by electronic gates, and large dogs roaming the grounds. The first visit apparently was unsuccessful, but another attempt was going to be made via the estate agent that has the property for sale. I have had no feedback concerning any further attempts.

Companies House web site shows the following info on what is thought to be the parent company of Smellperfect.com - "Pleasure 4 you 2 Ltd"
"Status Active - Proposal to strike off"
Presumably the "Proposal to strike off" is as a result of failure to submit accounts?

Trading Standards have advised the following...
"Under the Consumer Protection (Distance selling) Regulations 2000"

...."The Regulations provide that if fraudulant use is made of a consumer's credit, debit, or store card for distance selling purposes, the consumer is entitled to cancel the payment, and to be reimbursed in full by the card issuer".
Most credit cards have similar protection already under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (section 83), but the regulations amend the Act to remove the ability of the card issuer to charge the consumer the first £50 of loss arising from fraudulant use in connection with a distance contract.

This is what I am using to gain a refund from my bank for the debit card payment.icon7.gif

We too got a letter from Falkirk Council TS saying they are investigating. Fingers crossed this will be sorted out and everyone will receive the refunds they deserve :wall:
• Yes Ecenica have taken smellperfect and pleasure4u2 off the internet. The companies registered address is now 194 Cardigan Road, Leeds and apparently the company is being wound up. For info maybe contact the accountants. Charge backs for the undelivered goods seems to be the most likely way of getting any money back. Good luck
