Smellperfect.com?

Options
Hi

we ordered and paid for (with a debit card-grr)some perfume from smellperfect.com on the 2nd of December and we've heard nothing. E-mails and phonecalls to the company go unanswered.

Does anyone have any experience of this company and any advice regarding getting our money back?

Oh and if anyone knows where I can buy Gio by giorgio armani (NOT Aqua di gio) then I'd be grateful for that information!

If you google their name plus scam you instantly get 2 similar reports (maybe that was you though?).the address "fairlea" wetherby road,,is obviosly someones house,.if you google their postcode-their house appears for sale (super house too)and another reference to another company run from the same address is more Ann Summers than Chanel.

Google first-not after.Anyway sorry you are having difficulty getting the stuff-but....

the name of the other company is Pleasure4u2.com (accounts overdue with companies house)at least you might have started a thread that will prevent others being ripped off.
  • We ordered and paid for (with a debit card too) some perfume from smellperfect.com on the 1st of December and we've heard nothing. E-mails and phonecalls to the company go unanswered also.

We have contacted Trading Standards and are considering going to the police.

They do have a huge house and it maybe empty hence the reason they do not reply or answer a phone.
  • My friends have ordered from the smellperfect.com site also on the 2nd dec, but nothing has turned up, they have phoned and emailed and heard nothing back from them, it just seems like a big con to us. They are thinking of going to the police about it. I have search on the address and it is a house. Still looking into it. Please don't buy from this "so called company" seems like a rip off, making money from families, buying christmas presents no doubt. BEWARE!!!

The house is for sale via Fine and Country estate agent in Wetherby,Leeds.
  • We have reported smellperfect.com to Watchdog and Trading Standards and would strongly suggest anyone else ripped off by them to do the same. TS told us to send them a letter threatening taking it further so we have and sent it recorded delivery. Please keep me posted if you guys have any luck with them. Thanks
  • Hi, The wife has done the same as most of you (lessons learnt), anyway we contacted our local Trading Standards and they done some investigations. SmellPerfect is a trading name of a company Pleasure 4 you 2, we then carried out a search on the companies house site to see if they were still trading and to get an address & contact. I then Googled the postcode which then informed me that it was the accountants address with a telephone number, rang them and gave a poor girl some polite advice and also forwarded the info onto the TS as well. a few day before Xmas I was refunded the total amount.
Good luck to anyone else who has been stitched up.:rotfl:
  • Yes, I have also been duped, again using a debit card. Ordered, but nothing turned up. My Bank Statement shows a payment to a company called LIMETREE, and a phone number 01132 893444. I tried this once on a Sunday, but, needless to say, no reply! My local Trading Standards have also sent a letter, but not much hope of seeing the perfume, but TS did say that under the distant selling laws, the issuer of the debit card is also liable to refund? I would like to take this further, especially take action against the host company of the web site to take down the web site, but I am away at sea at the moment, and won't be home until the New Year. If anyone else wants to help stop this scam - I will be able to read any replies to this post Sunday 3-th Dec, then after the 8th Jan. What I would suggest is :- Contact local Trading Standards, Watchdog, and maybe the Police, as this is obviously a fraud. If the registered address is for sale, then maybe there is some way of seizing the assets??? I am only thinking aloud on this, maybe there are readers of this post with more experience who can advise. Also - important point, title any postings "smellperfect.com scam". These will then be picked up as this title by anyone checking on the company using Google or similar, prior to purchasing. At least we could help to warn others.

    Something Spells fishy!!

    (sorry couldnt resist)
  • We also ordered perfume (Gio) from this site at beg Dec, but never received the item, even though money taken out of bank 2 days after ordering. Phone calls and numerous e mails went unanswered. Contacted Trading Standards in Leeds and were advised to send letter as other people have also been told. Contacted our bank who looked into matter but said its not really fraud(??!!) as we ordered it and its just not been delivered! Wish we had paid by Visa! Thinking of contacting police as web site still on net and taking orders, so surely this is fraud. E mailed Pleasure for you 2 only an hour ago and have recieved a reply saying we will get a response from them within 24 hours so watch this space, although not holding our breath!

I think it "may" not be classed as fraud because it involves a contract- so comes under contract law-ie civil law ,not criminal law. The advice given by your bank may probably not be as good as trading standards.Good luck to everyone claiming. If they need to be taken to the County Court (Civil Court)at any point it can be done online.
